This is a very easy to operate camera with external light. What got my attention is that no external housing is necessary for up to 200 feet and it has a great menu system. It has an "easy setup" mode which makes it simple to use.and which includes a "use with external light" setting which is what you will want to use most of the time. It also has manual modes for snorkeling and diving. Just make sure the light is aimed correctly. Post dive a quick dunk with the buttons pushed and you're done. Now the other parts. The camera takes a relatively long time to write to disk. There is no burst mode. You need to think and compose as we did in the old days. Battery life is not a problem except if you spend a lot of time doing file transfers. It is simple and relatively quick to recharge. If you have a iPad or computer that has a USB type A port you're set to go. I was using my iPhone for file transfer. There is a wi-fi system used for file transfer. It can take a long time to even see the photos in the app and longer to download them There were times the wi fi would time out at inopportune times like doing downloads. I tried to edit from the camera but I have to admit more that once I accidentally deleted files. I also sized down the pix to 12mg and that seemed to help. A direct connection to a computer will solve the issue. The pictures were mostly good. The standard wide angle lens works well. There is an issue with edge sharpness on some pictures. This is likely because of the relatively slow shutter speed as the standard lens is very good. I bought but did not use the extra macro lens. The dive light is bright enough to use as your primary dive light for a night dive and the red mode can be useful on the surface.I think this is be best bang for your buck system. I looked at many alternatives. Go Pros are not great for the still photos I want and they seem to be lost all too often. I love my iPhone but it is not a good option even with the housing with the red filer. The fact that you don't have to worry about a housing or seals was a deciding factor for me. The only thing you need is a good wrist strap to hook into the frame that comes with the set up.. I used a AQAREA Camera Wrist Strap for DSLR Mirrorless Camera as found here for $15.For a first time user it makes underwater photograph easy. I came in third in the onboard photograph contest on a live aboard with many near professional photographs with thousands in equipment.

Great underwater camera. No fuss camera, no need to worry about flooding. Underwater light very useful. It can be used as a primary light. Camera is just as described. I highly recommend a macro lens to go with the camera.

The light lock mechanism can come lose easily if in rougher dive conditions. Lost my light when I guess I bumped so coral. Next one I plan a lanyard to the try.
