Pushing the bar activates internal switches which release the lock. Optional waterproof switches are available which allows the EMB to function in outdoor applications. Meets "no special tools or knowledge" code requirements.

I love Securitron products and I love Amazon, but in this particular case, this product's description has caused issues with a job I am currently doing, and I am unhappy. This item is for 36" electromechanical bars, only! This item is listed as 36, 42, and 48 inch bars, and they can be cut to fit, but that the longer versions listed under the description that can be cut down are not what this is. Again, this is for the 36" long bar, only!
