I live alone in an apartment and although it is in a beautiful complex I didn't want to fall into a false sense of security. This tool is fantastic! It took a few uses for me to get the hang of "installing" it, now I just slide it in and lock the door. I like the volume control & that it is rechargeable. Will bring travelling as well. I only paid $9.99 for peace of mind night after night. Recommend highly!

I ordered this for travel & esp for an upcoming move that will take 5+ days, since hotels booked while on the road can be hit or miss. I've tested this in my home to make sure it works & while it isn't perfect, I'm confident it will be a great travel companion & makes me feel safer as a single, disabled woman traveling alone. I do need to spend more time practicing with it, since ease of install & fit seems to really dependent on the door & how well lined up the holes are/clearance btwn door & jamb, etc (not a problem with the product & everything to do with the door itself). The alarm is loud, the ability to adjust sensitivity is great & being able to recharge with USB-C makes life much easier than having to try to find batteries in a strange town in the middle of the night!Glad I ordered it, may pick up more for my best friend & my cousin, both of whom travel alone fairly regularly & $12 (at time of review) is a small price to pay for peace of mind!

This product appears to be well made however it does not fit the front or back door of our home. I really bought this purchase to be used for motels and hotels however it would be a crap shoot to see if it worked anywhere else. I do not recommend unless you want it for your home and you get it and you know it fits. My husband has dementia and that was the purpose but it definitely will not do the job.
