Regarding the material these chains and clasps are made of, I'm not sure. If you have reactive skin maybe be careful. I made a bunch of pendants and made necklace chains for them with this kit and simply warned anyone that if they have a sensitivity to jewelry that isn't sterling silver or genuine gold to use caution or consider swapping out the chain. No complaints so far, made maybe 20 chains and still have leftovers from each

The gold and rose gold chains are a little too yellow/orange for my taste, and the links are fully closed, so keep that in mind if you have a specific project in mind. Other than that, I’m pleased with my purchase. I’ve made a simple necklace using the silver chain and a feather pendant and have had no problems so far - sturdy yet not too thick, doesn’t irritate my skin which is sensitive to most metals, and will be handy to have around to lengthen or repair store-bought necklaces, comes with a hood amount of chain/clasps/jump rings for the price. All in all, good buy.
