It is fairly easy to assemble on your own and I like that it comes with a siphon to fill up the heater. It heats up a space quickly. I had to turn mine off after about 1.5-2 hours because the room got too hot. Not much of a difference between the low and high settings on the flame. It seems to burn through the kerosene pretty quickly tho, I don’t see it heating up a space for 12 hours like it advertises. But it makes for a great emergency source of heat during a power outage; which is what I used mine for. Would purchase again.

It gets the job done. And constantly heats as long as it has kerosene.

This heater puts out a ton of heat and is very simple to use. I would caution anyone buying this to keep the instructions manual and follow it very carefully, however all use and maintenance procedures are very simple. This thing works extremely well to heat my detached garage that is about 1,000 square feet. Used it the other night and it heated my entire garage from 40F to over 70F in about two hours.

I purchased a used-like new heater and was pleasantly surprised. It arrived ahead of schedule in terrific condition. The heater works as described (if you haven’t used one before make sure you read the directions well to reduce smoking or other aggravations). Produce included the kerosene siphon and the wick which was lovely. Thank you!

PUTS OUT TONS OF HEAT AND EATS A LOT OF KEROSENE .THE BIRD GAGE IS OKAY BUT I DID NOT TRUST ANY OF IT AND REMOVED IT. KEEPING IN PLACE THE TWO ORIGINAL VERTICAL BRACKETS, ON EACH SIDE OF THE BODY, I MADE A STRONGER BAIL HANDLE THAT HOOKS TO THEM.ALSO MADE A PEDISTAL FOR IT RATHER THAN IT SETTING ON THE WOOD FLOORING.

I decided on this one because of the BTUs for the dollar. I know only what I’ve researched lately on kerosene heaters. I really thought a radiant style heater (ones with a square cabinets) would be best for my needs but I over-rode common sense and got this one. The “radiant†types have about 1/2 the BTUs and are more efficient. I have a very small house, 500sq feet per level, and this thing is HUGE (notice how it dwarfs the gallon jug) but I figured that, as a last resort, I could return it since I got it on Amazon, whom I totally love and trust-WRONG, Since it contains toxic liquids it can’t be returned. It was not too hard to assemble and requires no tools (or baggies upon baggies of hardware), so that’s a real plus. It does Not come with a wick or batteries so if you were needing it immediately for emergency heating-not going to happen. I guess it’s pretty common that the kill-switch breaks off easily because it is made of cheap plastic, then a wrench is needed to shut it down. It will have to be in the basement until I find a buyer.

This is my second kerosene stove. The stove works great in the garage and for emergency heat. I have one of the stoves in the basement for heat outages and one in the garage so I can rapidly warm up the place. I have propane stoves too, but I like the kerosene better because it’s easier to buy kerosene than get a tank filled up and the kerosene doesn’t put out the moisture that propane does. Anyway, it works for me and I’m happy with the purchase.

This thing certainly puts out loads of heat. Great for a small cabin!

2nd unit of mine, and by far the most efficient way of heating a home during a power outage. Quality of the unit is excellent, mind you this technology has been around for decades and there is a reason people still use them, they are that good. Kerosene can be a bit pricey but shop and see if a service station near you carries Kerosene. also, Kerosene is a very clean fuel that lasts forever!

I bought this for an emergency back up heat. I tried it out with 1 full tank of fuel. I left it outside for 1 hr to burn off any residue that might be on the heater. It did heat up my room very nicely, but I still even after a couple of hrs had a kerosene smell (I used top of the line kerosene). Maybe I had the wick too low.......I will raise the wick a bit next time.

My husband bought this heater to use in his work shop/garage. It works extremely well, is very efficient and heats the required space very well.
