The Shehds model was a 2nd attempt at using a dmx-192 console. I'd tried another brand, same actual device and it had a serious problem with flickering/strobing when adjusting faders. I sent it back and tried this one. Works like a charm. Better QC with Shehds perhaps? I'm happy with it. Excellent value for the price. You are limited to 12 fixtures of up to 16 channels each. I don't think you can use the B channels to run 24 fixtures even if they only have 8 or less channels, but! I haven't tried it yet. Seemed like I'd just cause my own confusion if it could be setup that way.

This product works. I use it with SHEHDS lighting and there are no issues or problems. The biggest complaint is that it does not fit into a standard 19" rack. It is about 1 1/2 inches to wide. Who the heck does that ???? So, it cannot be transported in a rack - therefore it will get abused just thrown in with other music equipment in a crate??? This is not a good design. They should make this so it fits into a rack.

I have seen better documentation... but this unit does work, just takes some work to figure everything out.
