Nice lens. Not too heavy, reasonably quick to autofocus on the D810 and D7200. Optical stabilization not obvious, which was disconcerting. I used the USB dock to crank that and the autofocus speed up so it feels more like a "normal" Nikon lens, which gives me more confidence that the O/S is working.SSE got the lens here quickly - 2 days. Unfortunately, the included UV filter wasn't. On sending an email I got a quick response that they were backordered and expected in by the end of this week, so I'm expecting the filter will show up in a week or so.....

I purchased this lens package from SSE Photo & Video. It was delivered promptly, although the package had to be signature-authorized in order to receive if from FedEx. It came with a UV Filter and a monopod. Didn't need the monopod but the UV filter was a nice add-on.This lens is much better than I anticipated. It zooms very quickly and locks on to the target (I shoot a lot of soccer action at my son's games). I have a Nikon D3300 camera and there are no issues in using this lens. It auto focuses very quickly and the pictures are clear, even from a great distance. I still have a lot to learn in using it but so far, I like it a LOT.A friend of mine is a professional photographer. He told me today when I mentioned that I had purchased it, that he had tried one and was very impressed with it. He went on and on about how quick it is. In comparison to my 2 Nikon lenses, this Sigma is much quicker at acquisition and focusing. Even with Optical Stabilization turned on, it is faster than either Nikon.I can't afford the big-dollar Nikon or Canon lenses, so this (although not cheap) is a great lens for my price range. I look forward to getting a lot of great soccer action-shots this Fall.

So far the lens works as I'd hoped. What didn't was the included monopod. The plate that fits into the base of the lens fits so insecurely into the monopod slot that I just about lost it! There is just too much weight for the design. After it almost falling out, I tested it more carefully to see just how much force it would take to come out. The result - not that much. The plate fits snugly onto the camera so that's not where the connection is weak, its the plates fit into the slot at the top of the monopod. I did a check for the top monopods and Vivitar was not on anyones list. I've ordered a Sirui P-204SR P to replace it. I wouldn't complain since I wasn't expecting a monopod to come with it at all, but since it did I have to complain that I could have very easily broken the lens before I even had a chance to use it

I've owned this lens for nearly a year and have used it for wildlife photography with my Nikon D3300. Have had some good results, but have also had problems with the AF, even in good light, when sky is part of the background. Eg. birds in trees.

This lens is great, I have been longing to shoot some wildlife with it. I have attached some of my first images shot freehand! Delivery was in two days and packaged very nice. Sunset Electronics provided the invoice and a customer satisfaction promise with a telephone number and a contact person...Amazing in this day and age! The mono pod is useless for this lens but I use it on my smaller point and shoot camera. For this big Sigma you need a Gimbal mount, so I ordered one today! I also picked up the 1.4 tele converter for my Nikon D750. Nice features on the Sigma are the lens lock and the three settings for distance. I also like the fit and finish, along with the reversible lens hood, and the lens cap. A very nice product indeed!

Autofocus is a tad slow, image stabilization is again slow. I have the same lens in 400mm for my canon and it came working great but purchased used. As this is new, will need to purchase the sigma dock to overclock the focus and stabilization. Aside from that it’s a great bundle package very affordable to get into the super telephoto scene. No complaints hereOh it’s mounted on a Nikon D5600 DSLR so we are getting 950mm as opposed to the 600mm

Can't be beat for the price. Saw reports that is was slow to focus and suspect that is because someone hasn't read the instructions. It is a fine piece of equipment with a unipod that is light and easy to use. Tripod works better but unipod is fine too. The package as I received it was smashed up but the box with the lens inside was fine. I'm looking forward to my next bird shoot.
