I purchased this personalized desk name plate for a Ph.D. graduation gift. When received, I was disappointed that it did not come in a box for gifting. It was shipped in a bubble bag. Although it arrived in good shape, the potential for damage is there. The item itself is really nice and classy looking with beveled edges and is about 2 inches thick. It is engraved from the back side. The name I had engraved was somewhat long so instead of compressing the letters when engraving, a smaller size font was used. I felt the font size was a bit small for the size of the name plate. The sample personalization image online really does not reflect the actual result. Overall, a good value. I suggest seller list the thickness in the description and that they include a box.
