About this item

  • Material: SILCA Ultimate Tubeless Sealant uses the power of a foaming latex formula combined with chopped carbon fibers to boost sealing power even at higher pressures.
  • Unique Formula: Ultimate Tubeless Sealant contains 5% by volume, 6, 9, and 12mm chopped carbon fibers that have been reclaimed from recycled bicycles, carbon wheels, racecars, and aircraft components.
  • Reinforcement: After the puncture is sealed, that area of the tire is left with a zone of carbon fiber-reinforced latex bridging the top and bottom of the hole, helping to reduce the likelihood of future punctures in that area.
  • Long Lasting: This superior sealing ability and hole reinforcing ability of the carbon fiber also allows for a higher concentration of anti-freeze agents in the sealant which means more effective sealing.
  • Notice: CO2, condensation from compressors, and talc powder can lead to hardening of the sealant. These should be avoided when installing the sealant.

I've had construction staples and glass punctures seal in one revolution. A roofing nail stuck in. I stopped, pulled it and spun the tire. Leak stopped in about 1.5 revolutions and I was easily able to ride it 2 miles home without topping up tire pressure. Measured pressure was down 15 PSI in a 32mm tire that had been inflated to 62 PSI. Another 2-4mm hole shot sealant out about 24" but sealed itself and held for rest of 20-mile ride on rough roads. Punctures remain sealed for life of tire. In hot, dry, desert weather I need to replenish sealant latex every couple of months. Remarkably better than other sealants I've tried.

So far so good but be sure to store your bike with the valves at the 12 o'clock position so they do not get clogged. This stuff seals holes and will clog your valves if you're not careful. Had to replace the 1st valve core because I realized this too late.

I've ben running with Stan's in my tires for a while now, and I've been dealing with chronic leaks. Simply put, Stan's regular cannot handle the pressure of road tires. I've got latex all over my bike frame from the futile spewing of sealant as the wheel spins. Stans racing might be better but doesn't last; it's more of a race-day thing. The leaks Stan's couldn't fix are not massive punctures, but I'm on a road bike and I need my tires to hold up to 80 psi.The first time I put the Silca into the rear tire of my commuter bike and pressurized the tire, two leaks immediately popped. Small holes that Stans had never been able to seal at 80 psi. I spun the tire and the leaks were sealed. That was that. I've got miles on the tire now to prove that the leaks are sealed for good. When you pour the goop into your tire you see why you could never use an injector to push the sealant into your tire. There are lumps of bluish fibers are just waiting to clog something.Silca will clog any tool you use to inject the goo into your tires. The great part is that a dose of Silca can last for up to a year with periodic applications of the replenisher, which will work fine with an injector (the replenisher does not include the fibers). With that in mind, you may want to buy a smaller bottle of the sealant than you would other brands.

Silca sealant is the only one I've found that reliably seals 28c road tires at 80 psi. This refill easily injects through the valve stem. The 4oz size is convenient for road and gravel tires, but you'd need 2 bottles for MTB tires. I wish Amazon had the 32oz refill size so I didn't need to throw away so many 4oz bottles and it would be more cost effective.

At first the claims seem great. It has strips of fiber that will seal larger punctures. It pours in fine. Then your tire starts leaking air and you are wondering what is the deal. This is what happened to me.I set up DT Swiss wheels with this stuff on a factory tape job that was immaculate. About four weeks later the spokes were leaking air. At first I just thought it was the tape job. When I popped the tire off it was terrible. All the sealant was a solid mass and left behind a ton of residue that I had to use alcohol to get off the rim. It took tons of alcohol and elbow grease. The tires are trash since I cannot get the seal needed for tubeless anymore even though I cleaned them with alcohol also. I have to run tubes now.TL:DR - If you want to change the sealant after a few weeks and love to clean up hunky messes, this is the sealant for you. This stuff is the worst.

This is the first time I used this type of product. Worked for me, I would probably buy this product again.

I got out my syringe that I've used before with Stan's tubeless latex with no trouble.I tried to suck the fluid into the syringe from the bottle, but the carbon fibers immediately clogged the hose. So I back flushed the fluid back into the bottle until the syringe was empty.Since I couldn't suck it in, I opened the syringe and poured the liquid into it. When I started pushing the liquid into the tube the fibers again quickly accumulated at the outlet of the syringe and clogged it.I found that by repeatedly pulling the plunger out to clear the clog and then beginning to push again, I was able to get the fluid in over the course of about 10 minutes. (this should have taken about. a minute)Boy is it a pain in the butt to put in. But it's difficult because it seems to be effectively sealing a hole that is probably 3 mm across. (huge). I have no doubt that those pain in the butt carbon fibers will make this stuff seal very very well.

Silca Ultimate sealant is the best! I use this as a quarterly top up and it keeps me rolling without issues.

works much better than Stan sealant. I use on Conti GP5000 STR road tires with 60 PSI. Stan wouldn't plug even tiny holes at that pressure. Sealant would splash out until the tires goes down to 30 PSI then the Sealant would stop the leak. Next inflation, hole would open again. Stan is a garbage sealant for road tires.Silca is much much better. only drawback is you cannot inject it thru valve core, you have to poor in the tire. Its actually faster, but can be messy.

It’s a little over priced but in the long term worth the money. If you don’t like fixing punchers in bad weather or before going for a ride it just works perfectly.
