What a difference this has made. I'm using it to measure distances in a cemetery. Previously, I used a tape measure, and working alone makes this very difficult. I'm so glad I ordered this wheel. It makes the tasks fun. But most of all, I'm able to complete the tasks and actually get something accomplished for a change. I'm glad I ordered it.

As the headline says, accurate, compact, easy to use. Easily measured 400' which I checked against Google maps. Fine design and execution.

I hate tape measures when I have to measure long distance. The tape ones are even more of a pain as they're subject to stretch and wrap around things when you're frantically trying to clean up the job site. I've been getting a lot of requests for things involving digging, so this makes quick work for estimating feet of conduit/etc. It folds out easily, resets easily, and is accurate (minus the minor bumps you encounter along the way). Wish I had this when I was pouring footers for the play house. Would have made my live so much easier. The only thing I wish is the free hanging arrow pointing down was a different color (like orange or yellow).

The device works nicely, folds up compact for storage in the carry bag.

(The text below was written following tests on a low-nap carpet in an attempt to duplicate measuring in grass, which I have to do quite a bit. The tool failed pretty miserably and was not at all accurate. For that I gave it a one-star rating. However, before I posted my review I decided to run my steel tape measure out 27' on a tile floor and remeasure. I found to get true accuracy I had to hold the wheel as I set It down and made certain the swinging arrow was pointed perfectly at the starting point. I then grabbed the wheel at the other end so it would be unable to change the measurement. Doing it on tile my measurement was 27' 1/4", and that certainly is within the margin of error for correct positioning at the beginning and end.So I have adjusted my rating accordingly, but be aware this is much better for roads and sidewalks than it is for fields.)Right out of the box this looks like a very nice measuring wheel. It is well designed and folds into a very convenient size with what appears to be a waterproof carrying bag. As you unfold the handle each section clicks into the following one and you are ready to go. It also has a flip-down stand for allowing the wheel to stay upright when not being used. With a push on the lever on the left side to bring your reading to all zeros you line up the floating arrow on the right side with your starting point and set off measuring. That is where the problem comes in. Mine wasn't even close to accurate. I first tried a fiberglass 350' tape pulled out to 38'. My reading was 36'10". So I turned around and went back. Same reading.I figured maybe the fiberglass wasn't correct so I grabbed my 30' Stanley steel tape measure. I know that one to be fairly accurate. I pulled it out to 29' and started again. Got a reading of 28' 4 1/2", so I turned around and measured the distance back. 28' 4 1/2". So I will give this five stars for consistency, but unfortunately there is more to measuring a distance than being consistent. Maybe I got a one-off, but I doubt it. These things are done by gears, at least normally, and if a gear is off you can be pretty sure others will be as well.I'm very disappointed. I had use for this tool and I was looking forward to not having to pull out my long tapes and then get them back in without twisting them. And for steel tapes I don't go over 30', and they wear out and the end snaps off. I wanted this to work well.
