Sadly, the first time I ordered this mug, I received one that was defective with missing spots of glaze inside as well as below the handle. It caused me great concern because I ordered another to be delivered to a friend as a surprise gift. I must admit that I remain somewhat concerned. No one wants to send a gift that's defective. It would be embarrassing.However, today, I am happy to report that the replacement mug I received is absolutely perfect. No pits, no missing nor botched glaze and it rings like a bell. So, I know there are no internal cracks. I washed my mug in very hot water and all printing stayed in place. This is a beautiful, well-made mug that is extremely pleasing to hold, use and view. It's of the fine quality I expect from Silver Buffalo, Amazon and "Friends," unlike the first I received.The defective mug is going to be returned. I'm very glad that Amazon has such a good return policy.
