Wram tips for Better Working with Simthread Metallic Embroidery Thread
- Please use Metallic/Topstitch Needle with a large eye to prevent stripping, the suggested size is Topstitch 80/12 or 90/14 and Organ HAX1 SP 80/12 or 90/14.
- Drop the Tension of the machine all the way to 1.0 ~ -4 (Upon your machine model).
- Lower the Speed of the stitch per minuter ≤600 SPM.
- Using a thread stand is a great help, it allows proper thread delivery without extra tension added.

I don’t usually use metallic threads, breakage is a common theme when I do. However, knowing how well Simthread performs on my machine I decided to try it. I use a double tier thread stand that sits at the end of my desk, about 20 inches to the right of my machine. Also, I did use a 90/14 needle, pre-wound bobbin thread, slowed machine today about 600. I should also mention I was sewing an ITH project with vinyl on a single needle Singer Legacy.The thread was so beautiful, shiny, very clean cuts and no breaks or shredding. I’m going to make my Christmas gift tags with this thread, they’ll look pretty with the lights shining on the tree

I am new to embroidery and thread, so bought this because of the reviews. I am surprised at how beautiful this turned out. Yes the thread did break a few times during stitching in the denser parts of the design. But I stitched out about 80.000 stitches and the spool still has a fair amount of thread on it. I would definitely purchase this again.

Good quality and strong thread for serger, coverstitch and sewing machines. Makes nice even seam and don't breaks easily.

I love the color and the idea of this thread. However, my embroidery machine has a hard time using this thread without getting tangled. My sewing machine uses it ok for the most part. IT is a coarse thread which can be hard for it to feed, but if you keep good tension and watch it closely it works.

I wish I had read the other reviews before buying this thread. It is extremely thin. Even with the slowest setting on my machine, it kept twisting and knotting going from the spool to the machine. Ultimately that would cause breakage. I even tried using an external thread mount and babysitting it by watching for and unknotting the thread. With all the breakage, a job that should have taken 15 minutes took an hour, required my constant attention, and it looks awful. Everywhere the thread broke, there are gaps in the stitching. While it is very pretty, it's not worth the headache. I would just use yellow before using this thread again.

I used the gold thread for a machine quilt I was making. I had read the reviews, some saying that the thread broke easily, so I slowed my machine and it worked great. Recommend.
