I bough this case in April of 2021 and use it for a live event streaming video rig. I don't fly with it but it does get loaded and unloaded a lot along with other video gear. The case overall has worked well but my main problem is the top cover hinges. They have both broken off in the field and do not have a way to put them back on. This makes the case pretty much unusable as a portable rig and will have to designate it as a stay at home rack mount for something else.

First of all, this is a great 4U rack, especially if you’re playing locally or transporting via car/bus. This is not a great rack for flying. That said - nothing is when checking. After flying for 3 gigs round trip (checked it 6 times) this rack is pretty worn, to say the least. Random small screws began appearing everytime I took the top lid off (still cannot figure where they are coming from). The hinges that the top lid connects to began bending and things kept getting unplugged and rocked from the securing that I had done (this honestly has less to do about the case build, and more about how TSA handles it).While this ‘held up’ enough for me to get through the gigs, it is not a sustainable long term solution for flying with gear.My take away is - this is a solid rack for local shows, but if you need to fly - opt in for a 2U rack and carry it on board with you.

Cheap and flimsy case made by skb. Case didn’t even survive shipping in a box, how would it ever survive a flight like it says it’s for. The side covers on the case are flimsy and were broken in half easily. Need a better locking system for the rack covers as well.

This product is exactly what I'm looking for as I can fit my entire touring rig inside of it, laptop included. This makes for a super fast setup on stage. However, I have flown with it twice and it already broke. The rack mount points broke off completely. It lasted me about 2 months.
