This jacket came with me on my recent trip to Iceland. The temperatures while I was there in October ranged from 25 to 42 degrees Fahrenheit with wind, rain and snow. This jacket was warm! It was perfect for the weather I experienced. It fit well over my winter clothing and was comfortable for whale watching, horseback riding, Aurora hunting, walking around Reykjavik or standing by many a huge waterfall. I loved the inside zipper pocket which fit my wallet perfectly and securely. The side pockets on the outside were deep and fit things like my gloves, muff or phone (and I didn't worry about my phone dropping out). I did wear it in the rain for short periods (maybe up to an hour?) and it seemed to be keeping me dry but I didn't test it for longer periods choosing to wear a dedicated rain jacket instead. The only reason I give this 4 stars instead of 5 is that the front zipper would "split" as I was zipping it up. I would have to roll the zipper tab down to the bottom and start again to get the jacket to close. This was a minor issue for me on the trip but does speak to the overall quality of the coat.

I'm not a skier - I bought this to have a warm, waterproof jacket for Illinois winters, and I am very happy with it. It's excellent quality for the price, fits true to size, and keeps me warm. The zipper is great, the little hand holes are comfy, and the quality is amazing considering the price. It keeps me warm in wind, snow, and rain, and I am very small/always cold. It is waterproof but does need to sit and dry for a little while if you're out in strong rain/snow. I would absolutely recommend this!

I'm 5'6 and 135lbs, I usually wear a size small but decided to order a medium as I intended to use this jacket for skiing and wanted to be able to wear with a lot of layers. The medium ended up being entirely too big. The length of the jacket was way too long for me to the point that even if I had sized down, it would have still been too long. Also, while this jacket is very warm, it is not light like ai needed for skiing. While there is a cord that sinches at the waist to help make the jacket more fitted looking, imagine putting a rubber band around marshmallow, that's what it looks like. Will be returning.
