This thing is amazing if u take your nitro car to a parc and dont have an outlet to plug in your heat gun, leave it for 5 minutes tops and a good tuned engine ahould fire right up. The connector is an xc60 for a 3s lipo to plug it into. I would recommend this for the bashers out there

This heater basically costs 1/3rd of the price of a top-choice competitor. Is it any better? Who knows; I'm not willing to pay that much money for a heating element...at least for now.The SkyRC heater pulls 6 amps of current at 12-12.5V. Once optimal temperature is reached, determined by it's sensor, the current-draw pulses about once a second at about 1 amp. I run mine off a 12V/6A switching power supply (like a laptop power supply but at a lower voltage). Or I have run mine off my automobile's battery using the alligator clips. I don't have any 3S LiPo packs, so those two methods are my only methods to power the engine heater, and they both work well.Fit is quite tight around a low-profile head on a 0.21 engine (OS Speed B2103). It fits, but it's a little bit of a hassle; it just doesn't drop on or slide on effortlessly. The other day I did notice some smoke emanating from the heating element. This concerns me a bit because it's basically a heating element wrapped in high-temperature silicone rubber. This thing does get HOT though, so maybe I got some oil on there or something.I took off one star because the cloth/fabric cover is thin and too small for the actual heating element. The height of the cover should be another 1/2" at least. This would help secure the heater to the engine AND cover the exposed element at the bottom.

This is the second on that I have owned. The heating element works great and gets the head up to about 130*F However the fabric has become brittle for lack of a better term. With the slightest tug to tighten the velcro strap around the head the fabric rips and becomes useless, the whole unit becomes useless. I wish it had failed within the return time period but alas it is 10 weeks old now. Yep total failure in just two and a half months.I will try to make my own . Maybe the elastic end of a sock? Anything will work better than the crap fabric it comes with.
