I'm pleasantly surprised by this purchase. We have a puppy who thinks the bed is a bathroom, and I was tired of laundering our down comforter 2x a week. I put off buying this because the reviews seem to say it makes the comforter so uncomfortable/unbreathable/hot you may as well not bother. I haven't experienced these issues at all. I did open the zipper closure at the bottom about an inch and that lets the air escape so it doesn't have a balloon effect with air trapped inside.The only minor issue is that because the inside is coated with waterproofing, it is slippery. The comforter does want to bunch up inside of it. Just make sure to secure the corners really well, and the issue is resolved. There are small ties sewn into the corners of the cover. Tie them to the loops of your comforter (double knot or they come undone...discovered that the hard way), or pin them if your comforter doesn't have loops.If you're reading the bad reviews and holding off on buying this, just ignore them. This is a really good product and it will save you having to wash your comforter!

I like the style and that it protects against pet messes and looks classy when the bed is first made. However it is loud every time you move, sounds like plastic and the waterproof properties holds the heat making sleeping uncomfortable. All night long I'm pulling the comforter up then down. My down comforter is constantly out of place and the ties inside don't hold it in place as its super slippery.I would strongly reconsider another duvet. Will be getting rid of this and having to spend money on another one.

I unfortunately found myself in need of a “water†proof bed covering to protect all on my bedding from an elderly pet who was having some mobility issues. This has been a life saver, instead of having to wash my comforter and sheets and mattress pad no I can just throw this cover in the wash. I find it holds in heat more than I ever would have imagined- I would think it may be uncomfortably warm in the summer but it’s working out just fine for now. The cover can be used like a duvet however I just use it on top of my bedding.

Does it do the job? Yes, it is waterproof. Almost too waterproof, as liquid will pool and then spill onto the floor. When that liquid is pee, you just traded one problem for another. Material is very thin, very crinkly and noisy, cat claws put infinite small tiny holes in it. Without internal buttons or hooks, any duvet you put inside will just roll around and need to be reset relatively frequently. In the end, we ditched this for a more expensive but more practical waterproof blanket, without the need for comforter+cover. It was also very very hot under the blanket, breathability is very minimal.Would recommend for certain situations, if you NEED a cover, it does it’s job well. Just didn’t work out for us, the whole concept of a cover that is, and we found a better option than covering what we had.

I have a really expensive duvet insert. I have a puppy that isn't potty trained. I can wash the insert but just barely so it's not something I want to do every time the puppy pees in my bed. I put this cover on my insert and then sewed ribbon on the outside so I could put a pretty cover on top. I'm not sure if it's the double layer or the crappy new pretty cover (I bought it because I didn't want pee all over my expensive other cover) but they don't stay together at all. It's a fight every morning to get all the parts lined up so it looks nice and is ready for night.So just on it's own merit - It's noisy, and stiff but it does keep the pee off the insert so it works as designed. Until I got my expensive mattress protector, I thought all waterproof bed items were lie that, but the mattress cover is soft and quiet and you'd never know it was water proof.** Expensive is subjective, the items I'm saying are expensive are out of my normal budget and they might not be expensive to you but they were definitely a splurge for me.

I doubt that the material is actually treated with 3M Scotchgard. The material is polyester with PUL (polyurethane laminate) on the inside. It's definitely durable and waterproof. I bought an LL Bean goose down comforter and wanted to make sure that I protect my investment. This cover does it. It's not as soft as the comforter material, but it's comfortable.I washed the cover before using it. I ran it with warm water and slow/delicate. I interrupted the spin cycle, turned the cover inside-out, and continued spin. I put it in the dryer on low heat. I interrupted the drying to turn the cover inside-out. The cover has laces in the corners to tie the corners of the comforter. It's a little like setting up a tent. The result is that my comforter is well-protected in a comfortable cover.

I wanted to like this, but I really don't. It is attached to my comforter from the inside and attached to the duvet slip cover on the outside. It slides around and my comforter ends up getting bunched up. That said, I will be removing this.

We have pets and they get on our beds. I like that this cover prevents the grime from getting on the blanket itself! So far this is working great. It’s not as noisy as some people made it out to be in other reviews.

I have an issue with the cats peeing on my bed, while I couldn’t tolerate it for more than a night as a comforter cover, I use it now as a cover placed on top of the duvet to safeguard. Happy with my purchase because I was able to use it for that.

It is definitely waterproof and the surface is softer than expected. Cat pee stays on the surface and is easy to clean up. It's a little crinkly from the plastic, but not as noticeable as I thought it would be. It's a little warm to sleep under due to not being breathable, but it's a reasonable sacrifice for making it easy to clean up pet messes.

One of our cats occasionally pees on our bed and this has worked great in protecting our bed and comforter. The pee just floats on top and nothing gets through. It is uncomfortable to use as a duvet cover though- esp. in warmer weather as it can get stuffy, and it is hard to fold. However, we use it mainly as an all-over cover for the full bed during the day. The cats don't like to sleep on it but they love to play on it since it's slippery.I have washed it in cold water and run to through the dryer. It held up fine with no problem- only thing is that due to it's water proof nature, it didn't completely dry in the dryer and I had to air dry it as well.Overall, it works for it's intended purpose and I am happy with the purchase.
