Step 1
Slid the leather clam loose enough to round the dog's head and neck.
Step 2
Pull the leash over your dog's head and adjust the slip around his neck. Make sure it is cinched just under the jaw bones and not low on the throat, this is comfy for the dog and a light tug brings him under control.
Step 3
To prevent your dog from backing out of the leash, adjust the leather clamp to fit the dog's neck, and leave two fingers of space so the leash loosens.

It’s a good lead, but it does stretch. I’ve put knots in it to shorten it and I think I’m going to wash it in the hot water to maybe shrink it back to its original length. It is a good lead.!

I should have ordered a longer leash which is my own fault. This leash does seem to work well and to be good quality otherwise. My dog picked up quick on how well the leash works meaning he can't pull me around if he doesn't want to fill it tighten up on his neck.

I totally love this leash. It allows us to keep our dog right next to us when walking her it’s strong enough to hold my sons nanopit but still not to heavy for our 18 pound dog who isn’t quite as big as his dog or strong. Would buy again

The guard to prevent the leash from allowing it to slip off our pup's head actually finds its way toward the neck, therefore choking her. Leash is soft,/ and "stretchy.".Cannot use. Would return, but didn't try using it in a store until today, which is past the return date.
