I was looking for a solutions to set up my Office situation which is completely hard maple hard wood. Since maple seems kinda of easier to get roughed up, I was going back on a large area rug, a carpet rembrandt to cover the whole room and these wheels. Since these wheels are the by the cheapest and easiest option to try I bought these first. They worked great. Smoothly glides accossed the floor without and scratches with ease. I have heard that these type of wheels collect grit on the wheels which can potentially leave marks if they build up. I haven't had them long enough to talk about that. Potential downside is that you have to keep the area and wheels clean. So far not issues smooth cheap way to have wheeled chairs on hardwood. Sure beats buying a custom 12x12 area rug which you would also need a custom anti slip or foam pad for underneath which excepts hardwood floors most PVC slip mates are know to leave a stain on hardwood floors. Anyway I am glad I tried these before I spent that kinda of money. In my opinion you pay all that money for great looking hardwood floor and you have to cover it up with a rug just so its funtional. I would much rather have the smooth rolling rubber wheels for cheap, delivered to my house in 2 days like always through AMAZING PRIME. PS this model is designed for most is not all 5 wheel office chairs, no tool required they pull out and snap in really easy.

I really wish we had put these kind of wheels on our kitchen chairs years ago. Unknowingly, we had put plastic wheels on our kitchen chairs since we had bought our set, over 25 years ago and they had gouged out several ruts in our Pergo floors. Recently we went to Lowe's and one of their staff, while helping us look for replacement wheels, told us we should try rubber wheels since they would work better on our kitchen chairs. Since Lowe's were out of those wheels, we checked out Amazon, and they had these sets. They were so simple to replace on our chairs, and my chair just glides across the floor with no noise or damage to our floor like the old plastic wheels did. It was a terrific purchase, and very reasonably priced!

Lasted longer that the actual chair did. While they did, they operated flawlessly.

These install easily, work just fine, and are priced competitively. I broke a wheel on my chair and decided on these as a replacement. My only beef is that they are advertised as rubber but the "rubber" part is shiny grey, and they feel more like a somewhat soft plastic. My chair sits on a chair mat on top of carpet so I don't know how well they do on a hardwood floor. There is a slight difference in the way these roll across the mat vs. my old black plastic wheels, but if you're looking for a true soft rubber wheel, keep looking.

I spent some money on a clear acrylic chair mat, and I didn't want it to get scratched up. I ordered these, and while installation can be a bit challenging, it's easy enough that most everyone could do it.Pulling out the old wheels is only difficult because the chair wants to flop around. I got lucky and four came out easily, and I had to use a flathead screwdriver to pry out only the last one. Putting the new ones in is easy, they SHOULD slide in with some force, but if you can get them in far enough to where they stay put, they'll pop into place when you sit in the chair. But the quality of these is great, and they slide quietly and without scratching. A really nice product once you get the installed. Highly recommended, especially for the price.

The wheels used in-house environment should last more than two years unfortunately this product failed before.I was forgiving when it failed the first time and purchased a second set hoping would last longer but unfortunatelyIt was wrong, both failed under two years of light in-home use. (user 160 pounds)The cause of the problem was the same in both cases. the plastic wheel support structure cracked renderingthe wheel useless.Understanding that the wheels are in use/motion maybe only two minutes a day it is obvious the quality is questionable. The price with no doubt is the bait and the switch is when you purchase another set hoping will last longer.I bet the maker knows about the problem but he knows the price bait is strong enough to keep buyers comingand there's no law would forced them to improve the design or take it off the market. My advice is don't buy wheels with plastic housing/support.My formal complaint to the maker/seller was not answered and Amazon in a case like this I was toldcan do nothing about it.

The wheels are ok, but they are a slight upgrade ro normal wheels. I know it says they are rubber, but I've never felt rubber like this. It seems more like plastic than rubber to me. I think something like roller blade wheels would work better. In terms of sound, they don't really dampen the sound. The movement feels similar as well. They are easy to install, just push them in. I don't think they will damage floors, so it should be ok for hardwood floors, but I'm sure there are better options out there. These are good to replace broken wheels, but not really an upgrade to stock wheels.

Inte golvskyddande direkt. Höll också dåligt. Jag är väldigt tung men att de skulle ge upp efter bara några månader är lite väl.

I bought these to replace the original hard plastic wheels on my office chair. My office floor has porcelain tiles on which hard plastic wheels are not recommended. The manufacturers state that these wheels comprise a specially formulated rubber material that gives a smooth movement whilst protecting tiled or laminated floors. This is confirmed on their website and on the box. They are not polyurethane or any other type of plastic.Rubber wheels ensure a smoother movement than polyurethane wheels, but rubber normally has an increased roll resistance, creating higher user fatigue when moving the chair. However these wheels have a very similar roll resistance and feel to polyurethane. And I am very satisfied with both the roll resistance and smooth operation of these wheels on my chair. They were very easy to fit and don’t need any special tools; the old wheels simply pulled off with a sharp tug. Note that these wheels come with a standard 11mm diameter shaft that fits into the chair. They should fit any chair except those made by IKEA – which uniquely require a 10mm shaft.
