Why do our hamsters need a sand bath?
For health and happiness, both of us and the hamsters
Does your room smell no good because of your hamster's cage? If you investigate the source of the smell, you may find out it's the hamster itself. However, hamsters should never need a bath with water, which can disrupt their natural oil. So a sand bath is a good choice. The hamster will roll around in the sand, and the sand will cause most dirt to fall off naturally.
- Sand baths don't damage the hamster's body oil and clean the hamster's body well.
- Regularly cleaning the hamster's fur in a sand bath can keep their body healthy.
Anti-slip design

Tough container, smart design - but my busy body gerbils figured out a way to dislodge the lid and carry it away and packrat the bedding inside the bowl after rooster tailing all the sand out. I keep refilling it though, they love the sand baths so much

I feel the materials could have been better quality, but this did stop my hamster from kicking the sand out of the bath everyday.

Do NOT get this if you have a gerbil. You will endanger them with it. It's made from plastic and they will chew right through it. Once they start chewing, it makes very sharp edges. Save your money and buy hard acrylic or glass bowls (i personally bought a big thick glass jar they can hop into and I can give them more sand for their baths)

Our little dwarf hamster was so happy when she jumped into her new bathtub that holds more sand. She digs around and rolls around in the sand several times a day. She loves it! :-)
