The steel thread rolling screw for use in plastic has a zinc plating and a pan head with a Phillips drive. Steel is often used in applications where strength is the primary consideration. The zinc plating offers corrosion resistance and has a reflective appearance. The pan head has a flat top and short vertical sides with a rounded top edge. The Phillips drive has an x-shaped slot that accepts a Phillips driver and is designed to allow the driver to slip out of the head to help prevent over-tightening and damage to the thread or fastener.

Thread cutting and thread rolling screws, two types of self-tapping screws, are threaded fasteners that create a mating thread in the wall of a hole. The two screws differ from each other in the way that they create the threads. Thread cutting screws cut the wall of the hole to create the thread, creating material chips that need to be cleared away from the hole to prevent clogging. Thread rolling screws, also called thread forming screws, do not remove material but instead press against the wall of the hole to displace the material and form the threads.

Not too much to say. Advertised as good screws to use for plastic and that’s what I use them for. Used with PETG, ABS and ASA. Worked well for each.

If you are aware that different screws are needed when working with plastic, then you know this is the style of fastener needed. I do not need these often, but when I do they work great. All you need to do is pre-drill correctly and then drive this fastener in. These screws have excellent holding power.

Seriously worth it for your 3D printed items that need sturdy assembly.

Looked for roiling screws for plastic to replace screws in Milwaukee orbital sander. Threads on these screws are very shallow compared to the aggressive screws in the sander. This was my third try, all the screws I recieved were of similar quality. Not worth effort of returning.Made my own by removing the tips of self tapping metal screws.

Tried buying these from local hardware stores and they were marked up ridiculously. These did the trick

The repkord filament spool racks use these. Great for 3D printing projects that need screws without using heat inserts.
