The steel self-drilling screw with black oxide finish has a pan head and a square drive. Steel is often used in applications where strength is the primary consideration. The black oxide finish offers mild corrosion resistance and lubricity. The pan head has a flat top and short vertical sides with a rounded top edge. The square drive resists slippage better than a Phillips or slotted drive.
Self-drilling screws, a type of self-tapping screw, are threaded fasteners that drill their own hole and thread it as they are installed. Usually only recommended for use with metal, self-drilling screws are available with wings that enable use when fastening wood to metal. The drill point length should be long enough to penetrate both materials being fastened before the threading portion reaches the material.

Works well and I am now placing a 2nd order.I used it to attached thin metal panels to an underlying 1/8" thick metal frame... the screws were easy to self-start, and did not break or strip any of the 100ea used; I used a (non-impact) portable power drill to install.Easier to start than another type of (unidirectional) security screw used; This square head type is the only type of security screw I'll use in the future, due to easy of installation.

I only needed 3 screws to install an external cable jack. I have some extra now. Price was right and they worked well.

These worked perfectly in my metal garage for holding up my lights. The drill end of this pierced through galvanized square tubing with ease. Once pierced through the screw end did the job well and snugged up tightly. I would recommend these screws to anyone looking for a square drive self tapping screw of this size.

Have used many different versions of this size screw fastenal home depot Lowe's and these are by far the best they cut faster break less and grip the driver better I have ordered many packs of these and they have all been great use them daily for work just wish I could find them in a 1/2 inch size also

I install a lot of aluminum railings and sometimes run short of self-tapping screws. I bought these as extras, and they work great! Self-tapping.
