Multiple soap making forums recommended piano or music wire for making a soap cutter. It works like a charm. Nice clean cuts and hopefully it will last a long tie before needing replaced.

Obviously massive overkill, but I bought this whole spool of wire just to have some really good back probes for diagnosing my car's electrical problems! For that purpose, it has worked a treat. It's nice and thin but stiff, perfect for carefully inserting into the back of electrical connectors to check the voltage.However, only about a month later, I realized another great use for these. I set up electrical conduit poles around my back patio to hang cafe lights from, and needed a way to secure the poles to the fence--boom. Massive spool of super strong wire at my disposal. Worked great!!I've really gotten my money's worth out of this thing, and imagine more uses will come up over time. Definitely didn't use it for whatever the original purpose is, but I'm very happy.Reason for 4 stars: the wire does sometimes get caught on itself/the box, requiring me to pull the whole spool out of the box (VERY carefully so it doesn't start to unravel) and adjust it. Otherwise the box does work pretty well to feed the wire out of, using little notches to catch the end of the wire so it doesn't go anywhere. Just make sure to carefully pull it up and out.
