Love this hay! Recommended if you're looking for hay that lacks seed heads and/or isn't Timothy (Phleum pratense). I'm putting in a second order after I type this review and will update if anything is substantially different, next round -- but I know hay is a natural product and there will be variation. Below, I'll address shipping speed, how long this lasted for our animals, and storage; then characteristics of the hay itself and our allergies.Super fast shipping. I bought the 10 lb. box on September 30 and started using it when it was delivered three days later, on October 3. This supply has lasted my small lop bunny (not a high-volume hay eater) nearly three months. During that time, I fed small amounts of some other types of hay a few times, but there were also serious incursions by my daughter's two voracious visiting buns, who are HUGE hay eaters. When this hay arrived, I re-boxed it right away into two Sterilite 56-qt plastic-lidded storage boxes, leaving some in the original cardboard box. Obviously, volume depends on how you compact or don't, but that should give you a rough idea of how much hay this was. Very economical. Yet at the end of three months, stored in a cool and dry basement, it's still fresh-smelling and bun-attracting. (The opening of a big bin of hay is an exciting moment in any rabbit's life, as you may know. Naturally, THAT stuff is far more fascinating than whatever's been in your litter box since this morning.)Per the description -- do read it -- this hay is from a cutting that lacks seed heads. Compared to Kaytee Timothy Hay (or others), this orchard grass hay is much softer, without all those sharply cut ends that poke my hands, making my skin itch between supplying buns and washing up. The grass strands are much longer, greener, and flatter. They're a bit like paper Easter grass, yet still a bit wiry to help wear down rabbit teeth. Enough? I'm not sure. Your vet could advise, or see House Rabbit Society's "Hay in Your Bunny's Diet." Little Furry Man has not complained about lack of seed heads, transferring his loyalty from mostly Timothy Hay to this orchard grass without complaint.Mixed results on the asthma and allergy front: my spouse noticed no difference, but I'm much happier, with a lot less sneezing. Less dust on the bottom than with Kaytee Timothy Hay (and others).

I have been feeding this brand for many years to my rabbit. It is a high quality hay from a brand that I trust. The hay smells fresh and it is clear my boy really enjoys it. Rabbits digestion is sensitive and this hay delivers for optimal rabbit health. I like that it comes in a box (no plastic, hooray!) and is from a family owned farm out West. This brand also offers treats and toppers - also excellent quality!

I adopted my bunny about 2 months ago and it has been a JOURNEY in finding the right hay for him. He was originally hooked on pellets from his previous owner and he would NOT eat any hay I provided him... we went from Timothy Hay to Oat Hay to Orchard Grass Hay, but nothing would interest him. I swapped out different brands - the struggle has been real and it has not been cheap! I came across this brand randomly during Black Friday and it was on sale so I bought it out of desperation. Firstly, I was shocked at how green, fresh and long the hay was - you couldn't compare this quality to other big name brands sold at the pet stores. Secondly, the minute I opened the large box, my bunny zoomed towards it out of curiosity and actually started nibbling on it! I am so relieved that he finds this hay "fresh" and tasty enough to sit and chew on it. Although after that day, it seems like he has lost interest in the hay again, but I'm trying to spice things up by putting some in his favorite ball / tissue box. We'll see if he'll eventually convert to eating just hay.

Small Pet Select is my go to brand now for hay. Many years ago, I used Oxbow brand. The quality of this brand greatly exceeds Oxbow's, when Oxbow was high quality. It's soft, great for dig boxes, easy on paws, great for bedding ...very fresh

This is my go-to when it comes to hay! It's always amazing quality and nice and green! Which when it comes to Orchard hay is SO hard to find. I have hayfever which makes handling Timothy hay difficult so I opt for this instead because it hardly effects me at all. 100% recommend this for anyone with bad allergies.I'll happily keep buying from this family run business. Not only do they provide high quality products but they're educated on the small animals they provide for too which is refreshing.

Tried the brand as it was cheaper then oxbow and oxbow has been crappy lately in my area. I am very impressed smelled amazing before I even opened the box and the guinea pigs went nuts as soon as i put the box in their room. Soft green hay. Perfect for guinea pigs.

Gorgeous hay. My bunny LOVES it and doesn't pick through it the way he did the previous hay. Will likely be ordering again!

The orchard hay from Small Pet Select is excellent. All four of my bunnies love it. It is soft, has long strands, smells fresh and cucumber service is excellent. I buy this product regularly and would recommend to other bunny owners.
