I've started using this aspen substrate for all of my King and Milk snakes. It provides great odor and moisture control and is easy to clean as necessary. It is very low dust and has a great consistency. The snakes are able to burrow in and make tunnels that hold their shape. The large packages are a great value. I highly recommend this aspen bedding for snakes, reptiles and rodents.

My piggies love this bedding! It is just a bit dusty, but only at first, and doesn't give them any problems (no sneezing or irritation). They popcorn all over the place when put into their fresh clean house.I did fleece bedding for a bit, but as I have to go to a laundromat to wash clothes, it just became much too difficult to make sure their house was clean and dry. I tried carefresh, but it was super expensive and my piggies didn't like it (made them sneeze and it seemed like they were itchier than normal). This Aspen bedding has proved to be a great alternative! And it's such a great price compared to going to a local pet store! It's not quite as odor controlling as the paper bedding, but the piggies like it better and I don't mind having to clean their house out a little more frequently to keep them comfortable. :)I definitely recommend this bedding if you can't use fleece bedding!

If you want wood shavings for bedding this stuff works well. I would say that it absorbs decently and the smell isn’t bad. I’m not a huge fan of shavings as bedding in general though because they stick to EVERYTHING. They were all over my house for weeks after even switching bedding. Ended up switching to fleece bedding which I personally prefer. Doesn’t hind in smell quite as well, but the easy of cleaning and reusability make it a better choice for me. Also cheaper in the long run. But for wood bedding, this stuff is good. If you prefer this type of bedding this stuff is good

I just started using this product for about a month. My family and I have a guinea pig and we use to use blankets for our choice of bedding but it becomes a bit much over time, smelly, not so easy to clean, takes a lot of time. With the Aspen wood bedding OMG such a time saver, grab a dust pan and bag and scoop away and refill cage. The Aspen wood bedding really absorbed the smell of urine and poop. Tip: we use doggy pads on the floor and then apply the wood bedding. Low maintenance, we only now have to clean cage once a week with using about 2 inches of bedding. Quick pre clean is also even easier. If your pet has a designated spot he or she prefer to do there business, halfway during the week, you can scoop that spot and refill that area. I thought our guinea pig would have trouble adjusting but he loves it, popcorns (hop) a lot more often these day. I highly recommend. Its safe for your pet and safe for humans, pleasant smell i must add.

There are few names you can trust in the small animal world. SPS is one of the top. I purchased this product only looking to get a small amount of Aspen to test out in my 2ft by 6.5ft guinea pig cage. Not only did less then a quarter of the bag completely take care of the cage, but I was also able to add a layer to the buns litter boxes as well! Shiba is a known kicker and she didn't even try with this product. Sherlock enjoyed nibbling the pieces that fell on the floor and knowing it is straight from the tree and not full of some weird chemicals gives me peace of mind letting him. Even the hard to please Tribble, the unimpressed Voldemort and the mess-maker Nimbus approved of a nice layer of shavings over their pellet litter. Perhaps it is that wonderful natural smell Aspen has! (No icky pine or cedar smell here!) The pigs, Rot and Geist, were also thrilled with the quality, chewing away and popcorning more then I have ever seen these two shy boys popcorn! I will definitely continue to purchase this product in the future! Their glowing reviews is all I need!

great alternative to regular saw dust as much less dusty. I mix with paper bedding for my Syrian hamster and it holds up burrows well. decent price for the amount I use.

This stuff is wonderful and soft for my animals there’s so much product for price and comes in a nice medium sized bag so easy to store what’s not needed for changing over, smells natural which is great for pet’s definitely helps keep them happy , low low dust I would say not visible in the air when unpacking

I felt I must leave a review for this, a great quality product, so much better for my snake, does not flatten easily like the basic type you buy branded for reptiles, far less dust than my previous brand and a very clean dry smell. Great value, the packaging looked small and felt light, but upon opening I realised its very compacted and lack of dust equals pure wood shavings only, very impressed by this and highly recommended.

I've tried a few beddings, I used kaytee's paper bedding for sometime until I saw my rabbit nibbling it. It's less dusty then other beddings I've brought (there's only a little) and goes a longer way then other wood and especially paper beddings I've used. I do put some paper litter at the bits she tends to wee the most in and it does the job pretty well. I like how you get a little postcard and a smiley face on the box, it's very sweet. It is a bit more expensive then other beddings I've used but does seem better quality.
