  • Top rabbit food of choice by local veterinarians and caring rabbit owners across the country
  • High fiber, timothy hay based rabbit food that is fortified with all essential vitamins and minerals your rabbit needs to thrive

  • Delivered Fresh guarantee - all rabbit food is NOT created equal; Quality of ingredients and freshness REALLY matter to the rabbits and help to ensure long term health and vitality

Small Pet Select rabbit food is an ultra-premium Timothy Hay based pellet, fortified with only the highest quality ingredients your rabbit needs to thrive. Many of the large national distributed rabbit foods do not use high quality or healthy ingredients in their pellets. We are extremely selective with the ingredients we use - Small Pet Select rabbit food is timothy based, which means it is high in fiber and low in calories and calcium, which is exactly what adult rabbits need. Our pellets arrive to you much fresher because Small Pet Select rabbit food is milled in small batches and we only use hay from the current crop year. If you’re looking for the highest quality and freshest food for your rabbit, you have come to the right place. The large companies sell hundreds of thousands if not millions of packages every year; we produce less than 500 packages per month and ship these direct and fresh to our customers. We are a small company focused on producing the best quality, healthiest, and freshest rabbit food available. Every package of Small Pet Select rabbit food is poured by one of our 4 full time employees, and we care a great deal about the quality of the product and the healthiness and happiness of our customers and their pets.

I bought this pellet for my adult rabbit, based on the ingredients list, which is much healthier than other brands because it has fair less sugar and carbohydrates and doesn't contain alfalfa. To me, they smell really good, like a grassy, flowery meadow.I usually only use pellets as treats and as "condiments" for his real food of hay, fresh grass, and vegetables anyway, but still, I felt like I was giving him a lot of sugar. Why did I feel this way? Because (1) he acted like I was giving him (or more importantly, WITHHOLDING FROM HIM) crack cocaine; and (2) he would begin to bounce off the walls and behave irrationally after getting a few of his treats; and (3) I tasted the other pellets and they even tasted sweet to me! So something there had to change. The first day, he loved this food., perhaps because it was a novelty. The next few days, he turned his nose up at it. But after a few days of not getting his sugary treats anymore, his tastes changed. Now he will do tricks for these pellets for half an hour straight. I sprinkle a few of them around his room and among his toys, and he hunts obsessively for them.I read other reviews that said that their rabbit wouldn't eat this food. I would recommend withholding all sugary pellets and treats, and limiting sugary fruit until the little varmit has time to adjust, then introducing a few of these as though they are something special. Addiction is a terrible thing!I also prefer these pellets because they are both naturally tiny and easy to break into even smaller pieces. When I am training my rabbit, I want to reward him every time he does something right. But because his concentration and focus is quite high, that means the training session can go on for a long time and I end up treating him a lot. I don't want to him to be full of pellets to the extent that he cuts back on his hay consumption, so I have been looking for a way to give him much smaller but more frequent rewards. Bits of romaine work as a treat, but it's convenient to have some dry treats available too.Another way that I use them is as a bribe to convince him to let me brush him. I crush them into a powder and put them into a small bowl. He sticks his head in the bowl and doesn't come up for air until the powder is gone; meanwhile, I can get in a good 10 minutes of brushing. I was doing this with other pellets but since they are so full of flour and sugar they are quite hard, so I had to us a garlic press to crush them. I like these because it's really easy to powder them. I mention it because other reviewers here were complaining about their lack of cohesion. I see it as a plus. He can use his hay or his chew toys to grind down his teeth, that's not what pellets are for.Anyway, we like them!

This is the only food I will ever give my bunnies. It was recommended to me by the breeder I got my bunnies from and I have rebought it for years. My bunnies have sensitive stomachs and this is the only food that doesn't upset their stomachs.

On paper this does appear to be a superior quality, alfalfa-free pelleted food for adult buns, but the visual appearance of the pellets isn't what I'd hoped it would be. My beloved six year old castrated mini lop, Percy, has dental problems (under the care of a highly experienced, bunny-savvy vet) that preclude him from being able to eat hay. Hay is absolutely essential for normal digestive maintainence, so I have to be extra selective when it comes to pelleted foods, hence my uncertainty concerning this food. It contains no alfalfa, only timothy hay, which is important for adult buns who suffer from excessive calcium and protein (amongst other nutrients) intake, and especially important for Percy since he consumes a far greater than average amount of pellets. This is a potential shortcoming of other high quality foods such as Sherwood Forrest adult pellets, although this brand is beautiful, fragrant, and deep green in color. The Oxbow premium adult food (the one in the dark blue bag containing higher quality ingredients - supposedly - than the regular Oxbow pellets) contains no alfalfa, which is a plus, and, also, no soy. Depending upon your opinion of soy, this is the could range from a neutral to a negative factor in selecting pellets. Sherwood advertises its pellets as soy-free, which I like, and the nutritional profile is close enough to what it should be that I would perhaps just go for that brand with the exception of one major problem: Percy is not a fan. It smells somewhat like anise, a scent that Percy is not partial to, unfortunately. This is the case for Sherwood's digestive enzyme tabs as well; the ingredients are stellar, but my furry brat won't touch them, no matter which yummies I coat them with or smush them in.So, the takeaway is that this is a high quality food, in the sense that it carefully adheres to recommended levels of key nutrients, but that the dry, powdery appearance and lack of a fresh aroma make me question the freshness of product. But perhaps I am expecting too much out of a pelleted food, and that the nature of a dried, processed, compressed food is that it is simply not going to look "natural" and "fresh".

Tried many different Pellets, my bunny did eat everytime only 20% of the Pellets and thrown the rest. Today I used Small Pet Pellets and he ate everything fast and currently is asking me to give him even more. You'll need to be strict and resist your rabbit charms or you are going to live with a pretty big one ;-)

My rabbit has gained a bit too much waight recently and I've struggled to find a pellet with low fat until now, you can tell its high quality, fresh food and my rabbit loves it. I'll definitely be sticking with this food from now on.
