This spring assortment of small springs is made of good quality, stainless (rust proof) steel. But the key word in describing them is “smallâ€. The various dimensions of the 15 different sizes is listed in the product description, with the largest ones being only slightly longer than 1 inch. The second feature to be sure to note is that they are “compression†springs - they push things apart (not pull them together). There a plenty of situations where springs like these are used in manufactured devices, but few will be DIY type of projects - most of the things we can make with the usual tools and materials in our workshops are larger dimensioned and heavier than these springs will have much effect upon. So it is probably best to think of these as repair parts, not build it yourself components. But if you anticipate needing an assortment of small compression springs, then this may be a good choice for you.

It's a case of assorted springs. If you're ordering these, you're going to expect a few things:1. Do they spring?- Yes. They are quite springy on compression. Great for crafts and small projects.2. Are they durable?- Seems so. They are stainless steel and can handle a fair amount of finger compression without bending or deformation.3. Will there be enough for me?- Hard to say. I'm curious as to who would need more than 225 springs of assorted sizes in their life, but if you do, maybe order a couple of kits.4. Does it have the size I need?- Again, that's up to you. The kit comes with several different diameters and lengths. It would be nice if the measurements were provided in MM (metric), instead of inches (imperial), but there is a handy chart in the lid of the case that provides the dimensions of all 15 different sizes.5. My spring needs require tension. Will these work for me?- No. Why do you have to be like that? These are clearly meant for compression. Plus, you're being really needy asking all these questions about springs.Overall, a great kit to have on hand for art projects, small robotics, pen making, R/C building/repair, or anything other project where small springs are needed.

This is an assortment of small, lightweight springs - the kind you would find in ballpoint pens. They're not industrial strength or particularly fancy, but that's okay - the listing describes this set accurately as "pen springs", and that's exactly what you get. If you had a favorite pen that's not working right, or a small contraption that needed just a little bit of springiness to achieve a special effect, these would be exactly what you need - and there's enough variety here in sizes to accommodate most needs, too, with a matrix of three diameters and five lengths. The listing is extremely honest about what you get, right down to the misspellings on the enclosed card, and I really commend that. The card in your box will promise Real Stailess Srpings, just like the one in the listing does. But it also means the springs are exactly as pictured, and the box is actually a pretty nice little box - unlike the ubiquitous blue tabbed ones, it actually closes correctly and latches well, and all of my springs arrived in the correct compartment. This is a nice little assortment to keep on hand, especially if you're a maker dabbling in 3D printing, and the price is certainly right. I'd order this again in a heartbeat if I was in the market.

Was hoping to use these with some 3d printed cord locks, but the springs are just too weak to hold anything in place. I may use them in the future for something else, but nothing that will require strength.
