I shoot Real Estate photography and have to cover a bunch of exterior shots of a property. The sun flares are always an issue typically using my hand as a shade when moving quickly from shot to shot. This really solves the problem for quick sun shade especially using a wide angle lens. P.S. - Try to remember to handle the bendy arm (Flexible Rod) with care!

I love lens hoods. And, if you ever banged a lens around you'll know why. However, Lens Hoods aren't always able to handle the different lens filters (something you also know if you use filters). Now, it's important to note... Are you using a Handle, a camera cage, or a gimbal system? I also found this device to be the PERFECT solution for those and other camera mounts. Now, I can easily change lens filters, adjust those like variable ND or Polaroid filters, and keep sun glare to a absolute minimum!

I found it hard to get into the correct position to block the sun, you need an allen wrench to adjust the flag and to top it off, it broke in my camera pack. I have other great products from SmallRig and though this would meet the same quality. I don't recommenced this product.More: The flex rod is too short for a fast normal range zoom lens to shield the lens. I have replaced the original failed flex rod with a magic arm with longer reach, the ball joints also gives me more adjustments.

This does exactly what you need it to do, but honestly just buy a matte box. You’ll think you’re being wise spending wise - but in the end - matte boxes just make more sense. I’m kicking myself that I now have both of them.

I wanted to take a selfie with disperse light coming from all directions. So I stood in the shade of the house. But the camera on a tripod would be in the sun. This shade device is ideal for shading the lens from the sunto achieve a perfect shot.

I wasn't very impressed with this. Only having 1 panel really limits how much it can mitigate sun flares, especially during camera movements. The arm also felt like it was about to break off every time I dared to adjust it.

The rigid section at the flag end is a bit of a nuisance when configuring it as a side shield, but overall it's very well made and now part of my standard kit.

Simple and lovely french flag solution for wide angle lenses and vertical shooting. But connection at ends is weak link which broke too soon :(
