My dogs really get excited when it's time for their SmartBones treats. I like these dental chews in particular because they last a long time - it takes my dogs at least 5 minutes to chew up their bones. If I give them something else like greenies, they will destroy it within 30 seconds. How can a dental chew really be that effective if your dog is only doing 30 seconds of chewing with it?Another reason I like these chews is because they're not rawhide and are totally digestible. My dogs have never gotten sick from these nor have they ever thrown it back up (I can't say the same for some other dental chews out there).The only reason I don't give these chews 5 stars is because they don't really seem to do much in the way of improving my dogs' breath. Their breath still smells like a** right after chewing a SmartBone. But, then again, I've never had any other dental chew that really did anything to improve their breath. The only way to remedy that is with some dental gel and spray or just brushing brushing their teeth.

We have a toy Pomeranian, we buy these snack for him all the time. He like them and they make him choke or upset his tummy. (if you know what I mean). We have other large dogs and the are way to small and we would go through a whole bag in one day with the Australian shepherd. We think these help the small dog keep his teeth clean, but he has bad teeth any way so these still work for a small dog missing a bunch of teeth.

I have 2 Pomeranians, 1 with particularly interesting breath! My friend reccomend these to me as her dog loves them. I liked the fact they do not contain rawhide. My dogs love them and sit quietly for 15 mins enjoying them. Their breath after the very first chew was improved and i think over continued use will get better and better. Straight after eating the chew they are so minty fresh! The manufacturer reccomend up to 3 chews per day!! That would be lovely for the dogs but not for their weight or my pocket, so I give them 1 chew every other day which I think is plenty and seems to be doing the job. Will be purchasing again.

healthier than the raw hide chews which can choke your dogs would not buy anything else as a chew for my dogs these smartbones and the other products of theirs are excellent you get what you pay for

Our Yorkshire terrier loves these and as someone else has written, likes to throw it about in the air and play with it before eating. Takes around ten minutes for him to eat giving me a welcome break!
