How to use grill smoker box:
1. Add your favorite wood chip flavor.
We recommend using dry wood chips.
People often soak wood chips to prevent them from catching fire on the coal. In a smoking box, wet wood chips take longer to produce smoke.
2. Place the smoker box for gas grilling as close to the heat source as possible.
If you use a charcoal grill, place the smoker's box directly on the coal. For gas grills, ideally you can place the smoke box for gas grill between the grate and the seasoning stick (or on a grid if it doesn't fit).
3. Enjoy the perfect roast!

these gadgets are obviously low tech, but the length of this one sets it apart, this is probably my 3rd and 4th smoker box. the reason it's the 4th - i liked it enough to get one for our vacation home. what i like about it is it's longer than most and therefore holds more chips. I rated it 5 stars because it can rest across the top of my charcoal chimney starter. so the chips are already smoking when the charcoal is ready.

Missed smoke flavor on grilled foods. Use this laying on it's side under the grill grate on our Kuuma grill and it works great!

Does not work well on grates, needs to sit on flavorizer bars over burner if you want to slow smoke meats. Had better luck with heavy duty aluminum foil with wood chips on top of the grates.

The back part of any grill I’ve ever owned is always the hottest. So I put this smoke box right in the back on the main grate. Now the extra heat keeps the smoke rolling out pretty good. Only thing is you really only get about 20-30 minutes so you have to refill. Refilling is not always very easy cause it’s very hot. Plus it takes a while for the chips to start to smoke. So I have bought 2 of these and I just throw the other one on right at 20 minutes and then refill the other one and wait another 20 minutes. Maybe a bit monotonous but so far this system is working really well.

Bought our first one to try it. We like the smoke flavor when we grill. These smoke boxes impressed us so much that I ordered 5 more. 1 for our other grill. 3 for my sons and 1 for my brother in-law. I usually use hickory + a few other chips. The smoke dispensed from the boxes adds just the right flavor to the meats that are being grilled. I do add a little water to the smoke box when smoking chips are added . This prevents the chips from catching fire and to give off a deeper smoke.
