Replacing a felt gasket on my Louisiana Grills Kamado. The gasket is well made and easy enough to cut to size. Be sure to clean up the surface real well prior to installing. The adhesive seems pretty durable but I also ran some high temp copper silicone to ensure good adherence to the ceramic.

Although this is made for a particular smoker, I used this product on my Chargriller around the smoke chamber lid. My smoker was leaking a lot of smoke at this area and once I cleaned it well (first with soap and water, then with rubbing alcohol), I had no problem sticking this on. I did use some little clamps to hold everything together overnight - not sure if it was required, but I wanted to make sure it stuck well. I left a little gap for my probe wires to go in and I was all set! It cuts smoke loss from under the lid to almost nothing, and it seems easier to regulate the temperature without all that outside air coming in.

Not using this as intended. I don't have one of the ceramic type grills, but I do have a Camp Chef pellet grill that doesn't seal well around the lid. Having no seal, adding this seal to the grill seems to have improved things for me. The adhesive is good, just make sure to completely clean and degrease the surface that it is being applied to, or no adhesive in the world is going to stick.

This is a nice fiberglass gasket that has a substantial thickness that gives a great seal. My Kamado is the black version and it was provided with a felt gasket. I find the felt gasket wears down very quickly and the perfect seal it creates initially is quickly allowing small leaks after minimal use. I hope this thicker and more durable gasket has greater longevity. Installation is key to remove the previous gasket and get down to bare ceramic to get the best adhesion of the new gasket.

The gasket is made from material that will withstand high temperatures. Because it is cushioned it forms a tight seal. Only time will tell if it will withstand frequent use of the grill but, for now, it appears to be of great quality.

I have a large BBQ from years ago. The gasket I added then has worn out. This one is thicker and should reduce the smoke escaping better. Once I install it and cook another brisket I will update this review.
