I have a regular smoker with a tray for wood but I needed one for my regular gas grill. I put this across two of the side burners and filled it with wood. It worked just fine without warping. The smoke was constant and I controlled it with the burners!

This Smoker Wood Chip Box can ONLY be used....once you have soaked your wood chips in another container. Water will pour right out of it....if you try to add water and soak wood chips in this Smoker Wood Chip Box. I've used a box like this (in the past) to soak wood chips....then pour out water....then place on grill. If this is your planned use....DON'T BUY THIS SMOKER WOOD CHIP BOX.
