Got these padded shorts for our son, who is a avid snowboarder. He is getting to the point where he's learning tricks on rails now instead of boxes, and when he takes a fall its harder than when he was younger and just working on box tricks. These shorts have been great, he wears them over his underwear and underneath sweat pants. They have enough stretch that he can easily move around and bend over. We highly recommend these kids padded shorts!

My son has taken up snowboarding and is, as would be expected, falling a lot while learning. I got these for him and they do the job. He complains a lot less about the pain in his butt from falling and he says they add warmth, but the materials are cheap and probably will not last. In our case, that's probably ok as my son figures out if he wants to stick with snowboarding or not. You can't remove the pads to wash the pants without them, but maybe that's typical.

Finding crash pants for figure skaters in a size larger than XL is almost unheard of. I've had to make do with the super thin and cheap ones that they make for snowboarders. Unfortunately, if you're learning jumps, those thin ones aren't going to cut it. I needed something with higher impact foam. These are pretty much the industry standard. When you go to any rink and watch the figure skaters practice, these are the crash pants that they are wearing. When I saw these in a size 3xl, I pulled the trigger and decided to give it a shot. Normally figure skating clothes run two sizes small so I didn't have much hope for these. But they fit! Not only do they fit, they fit with room to spare. (I am usually a 1x to 2X.) The fabric is a little thin but that's not a huge issue. The impact foam is thick. That's all that matters. The foam covers from hip to hip, and that's what you want. I am so happy I found these. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

I ordered these shorts for my boyfriend to protect from bruises from the frequent falls that come with being a beginner skier. He's 6" tall and about 180 lbs. I ordered the XXL, and it's a little loose on him. He actually found them more comfortable worn over a pair of thin workout pants. We joked that they provide built-in cushions for less-comfortable seating arrangements, but haven't tried that yet, or taken them skiing. Still, he's eager to give them a try! I'll update the review after a day on the slopes.

My daughter liked the design of these for skating - as they are short enough, don't have zippers to make weird bulges. However, I got the medium per the age sizing (she is a petite 12 year old) with height of 4'10" and weighs 96 lbs. So I should have followed the weight and height sizing. I had to get it again in small.The fabric is like stretchy soft spandex (I am not sure what "milk silk" is. The do offer good mobility and the pads are very light.

I got a pair of these for trial in size XXL and even at that larger-than-normal size they are useful.Often I wear these kind of pants when skating - or other sports that might involve falling.They are pretty typical in being constructed of lightweight 'spandex' type material, very stretchy but not likely to hold up for a long time.The pads are decent and in the proper places but not removable.Not quite as rugged as some other pants I've used but still useful as an outer layer.

This is the best butt pad I’ve ever used! When I go skiing, I often find myself sitting on the ground, so protecting my backside is crucial. This pad provides better protection for the butt area compared to others. It’s an excellent design!
