Love the price and this does everything it is designed to do.I love how thick and hardy it is. Lots of confidence in the device.HOWEVER - takes a lot of skill to wrap into the lock-off arms. You have to let off the brake to wrap up around the arms. That's hard to do under body weight. After some practice a few feet off the ground I mastered it - but it took a lot of strength and speed to throw a wrap around the arm before slipping.So - just a cautionary tale - you don't want to be midway down a cliff trying to figure this thing out. It looks obvious how to use it and I'm fairly experienced - but it humbled me.

This descender is exactly what you would expect it to be. It looks just like the picture. It is very light, and does feel well made. It's a solid piece. Simple product. Would recommend.

The first thing I must state is this device is not certified by by any authority, so where the 35KN rating comes from is anybody's guess. This figure eight seems well built and adequate to do the job, but as with any equipment that your life will depend on, how and where you use it is up to you. For the price of this item or less, you can get a name brand.
