I recently purchased a soil moisture meter for my patio garden, and despite its inexpensive price, it has exceeded my expectations. Initially, I was skeptical about its quality compared to more expensive and digital options. However, it has proven to be exactly what I needed to monitor my soil's moisture levels, especially since my garden gets a lot of direct sunlight.The meter works perfectly for my needs, ensuring I don't over or under water my plants. One thing to note is that it needs to be wiped clean after each use, as per the directions. The instructions also explicitly state not to submerge the probe in standing water, which is important to follow. I've seen other reviewers give it a bad rating for not adhering to this guideline, which caused their meters to stop working.To ensure its accuracy, I verified the moisture level with my hand, and it consistently matched the meter's readings. It's nice for my deeper raised gardens to reach to depths that my hand can't. Sometimes the soil would be dry on the top layer but plenty watered a little deeper. Helps avoid getting root rot or things like that. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this purchase. It’s a reliable, affordable tool for any gardener looking to maintain optimal soil moisture levels.

This item looks like it does in the Listing. The price was very low and so the actual items is not heavy duty, but for the price, it does the trick. So far, it is still working as it is supposed to!

I have been using this soil moisture meter for a few months now. It has been extremely helpful for knowing when to water my new trees and new plants and is very reasonably priced for the value it provides. I highly recommend it and would buy it again myself. The only gave it four stars instead of five stars is that there is some ambiguity in interpreting the soil moisture content for results that are anywhere in the green zone. Red = dry = add water for sure and blue = very wet = don't add water are clear. But deciding whether to add water anywhere in the green zone, or where to stop adding water in the green zone, is not clear. The package includes a list of plants for each numerical value on the meter's scale which is great if you have one of the plants listed on the package. But if you are caring for plants or trees not on the package, you have to do a bit of guesswork. Still, it's better than nothing at all and I think more accurate and much less headache than coring a hole with your finger to assess soil moisture at several inches below the surface.

This is easy to use. The fine point makes it easy to push into the potting soil and go all the way to the bottom of the pot if desired. It reads the moisture almost immediately. I don't water until the meter is in the "Dry" area.

Let me know I had a serious soil drainage issue with my snake plant. The dirt seemed fairly dry but this little gadget told me the dirt was actually water logged and rotting the roots. Good investment.

This is my newest favorite tool! It instantly tells me the condition of the soil -- varying degrees of dry to wet. This is particularly helpful for the many deep planters I have.

Can't find these anymore at the store so jumped at them when I found them online. Great instant moisture meter, use at home and the office and gift to friends who are not so good at tending plants. Prevents both over and under watering, and great to learn the requirements of each plant.
