I was looking for a solution to power WiFi cameras on the outside of my house. I ultimately chose the Tapo wireless 2K security camera because the price was right and it had good specs. My problem was that the cameras are battery powered and I really did not want to occasionally have to charge them. This was the solution and it works perfectly. The battery in my cameras stays completely charged and I can use the spotlight feature in the cameras with no worries about draining the battery. When the sun is out the next day, the battery recharges. The pictures attached to this review show the mounting locations of the cameras. As you can see the locations would be hard to get power to. In the case of the camera on the block wall I'd have to trench through the yard to get an AC line nearby. No way I was doing that, the cost would be way too high.Where I live the sun is almost always shining during the day so ROI was a no brainer. Bonus was no crawling through the attic either.I have 4 of these in use around the house and I'm very pleased with performance so far.

If you are looking for some solar panels that are a viable and pocket-friendly solution for your Arlo cameras that are described in the product description look no further because these are it. I spent hours reading reviews and researching solar panels for my Arlo Essential XL cameras and these seemed to be the best choice so I ordered them. They have a nice long cable at 10ft that allows you good placement options. I did not need the full 10ft on any of my cameras but is awesome to have that flexibility. These panels and the mounting hardware seem to be well made and I did not notice any issues with the build quality of them. If I had one request it would be that I wish the mounts were longer with another joint. The way I mounted them was on the fascia board facing up and toward the East a little with the long side parallel to the fascia board. They have a metal bar with a ball on the end to make a ball joint that pivots and rotates. However, the pivot is limited a little by the ball being enclosed in the plastic housing that partially limits the achievable angle. If that ball was outside the housing and was on a telescoping metal rod it would greatly increase the positioning flexibility and achievable angles possibly even eliminating the need for an additional joint. I was still able to get them in the position that I wanted but it took a little work and I wish they were a little further out from the roofs edge. Moving on to performance perhaps the most important aspect of a solar panel, especially in light of all the aftermarket options that do not work well and are not well made. These have added a few percentage points at a time of course varying depending on the weather. The batteries in my cameras have continuously gone up week after week. I did not charge my cameras all the way up before attaching the solar panels but I am not worried as long as they keep going up in charge. I have one camera that averages about 5 clips per hour during all but late night when mosat are asleep. Even that camera has gone up 13% since the solar panel was installed 12 days ago. The bottom line is if you are looking for a cost effective option for your Arlo cameras and they are a model listed in the description go ahead and buy these because they work. The charging icon even shows up in the app when they are charging your cameras a battery with a green lightning bolt going through it.

I would strongly suggest that anyone thinking of buying these stay with the actual Arlo Solar Panel Charger rather than these units. Now I am 900 miles from my vacation house and because I thought these panels would be a "better deal" I instead can not see anything from the 2 cameras I attached them to as the panels did not charge them.At least I can see clearly from the cameras I ordered and used the Arlo Solar Panel Chargers with, but still left with blank spots in my camera system when I was trying to save some money.

The solar panel works well when you have the right one for your camera. Make sure you check the charging port type!

I just got them and have yet to install; however the packaging was excellent. The units looked well made and have several installation accessories included. If they truly work with the ARLO security components I have they will be a great addition.

Great idea but doesn't work. These did not charge my cameras at all and battery still drained.

It’s easy to install and keep my cameras charged. Solar panel has a protective coating that allows low to none maintenance. Works great!

Purchased these and set them up and they connected for 2 days and will not stay connected to the Arlo camera and they are not charging the Arlo Essential 2k Outdoor (2nd Gen) camera. By the time the cameras were set up and the solar panel charger were connected the movement continued to drain the battery life and the charger did not recharge the battery. Even though this is a trickle charge the batteries levels should stay at or maintain a certain charge. If you purchase this solar panel be sure to monitor the trickle charge and your battery level so if they don't stay in charging mode you will be able to return. I missed the return window.I do have genuine arlo cameras and solar charger at another property that do perform to expectation and have had them up for almost 3 years. This is the first time I have purchased a competitors brand to use and it doesn't seem to be compatible as stated.
