Let me begin by stating that I obviously can't read a product description. I initially saw this item and said, awesome! I can finally get a solar charger for my ring doorbell! I placed the order and installed it as soon as it came in. It's very easy to install. All you need is a philips head screw driver. Easy peazy. The cord was long enough for me to run it up the wall under the porch stoop and over to where I installed the panel, which took about 12 ft of cord with how I ran it. I had just charged my ring doorbell as well, so I thought I was good to go! Well, now is the confusing part. I checked the ring app to see if the charger was connected, but it was telling me it wasn't, so I thought, maybe it's because it's at a 100% charge right now? I waited a few days and still nothing. I un-installed the doorbell and reinstalled it in the app. Still nothing. This is where I discovered that I f'd up. I read the product description and clearly in the title, it states it's not for the ring doorbell gen 2. Guess what!? Yup. I have the gen 2, so the mistake is totally on my inability to read something. I can't confirm how well the solar charger works, but I'm pretty confident it would work great if I had a newer generation ring.

Just hook up and go! Connection is super easy!This solar panel charger is perfect for anyone who hates to take off your ring and charge it.It is small and compact and fits in pretty much any space!Works perfect and helps rings battery life last!!!!

Works fine for my Ring doorbell that 's located on main gate (have two, one front of main gate and one in front of main entry).I was not able to run wire to the doorbell on outside gate, so I have to manually charge the battery. This solar panel will now allow constant charging of the battery, so I can forget about charging process.I also can use this solar panel to provide power to my wireless outdoor camera with built in battery!Highly recommend.
