It is really weather related. A heavy due in the morning makes them useless. You have to get within one foot of the sensor for it to go off. When it is hot out and sunny in the upper 80's, they are set off when there is nothing in site, and keep cycling on and off. They are not waterproof, in the last big storm we had there was water in the bottom of the unit.Not worth the money, would never buy them again.

This alarm was working well, even scaring bears away from my porch. But recently when it went off one night, the noise never stopped. I had to retrieve it from outside and manually turn it off. I attempted to use the alarm again and the same thing happened. I turned the noise off but the light continued flashing until that was also turned off. I would like to get a hold of the manufacturer. I would be willing to try a replacement and see if I could get one that doesn't malfunction.

I used this product to deter animals. It didn't scare anything away. The motion sensor goes off pretty easily sometimes butterflies fly directly in front of it it'll go off but with cats or possums it does not go off and it does not scare them cats stand right in front of it and they are not scared. I bought it for cats and possums and they still came around. Unfortunately I can't return it because my return window has just passed but at least I gave it a shot

bought 4 of these to scare deer from garden ....and now using to keep critters away from chickens at night....already 1 has completely gone out....other than that they have worked great...good motion detection and the siren sound is very annoying
