I bought these lights to string around the top of a 10' x 10' popup canopy. I use the canopy at the back end of my truck when camping for shade and rain protection. I have an overlanding rig in my truck bed that has all the usual stuff like a 12v fridge, batteries, solar, etc. I added a power receptacle panel that has USB outlets that sits just inside the tailgate of my truck. These lights have just the right amount of extension to the USB plug that they work great in the canopy.After I received them and plugged them in, I realized that the USB plug has a built-in power button. Nice touch if you don't have the remote handy and don't want to just unplug them. The remote control works well, with pretty much all the usual LED lighting functions you would need. The timing settings are also a nice touch as you can set the lights to power off at set hour intervals.I just wanted a basic light string for camping, but these lights have a lot of features that are actually kind of fun to play with. Besides doing basically all the colors of the rainbow, they can fade, strobe, twinkle, and do all sorts of creative lighting effects. I can't say how they handle in the rain, but since they are completely wrapped in a rubber tube, I don't think rain would affect them at all.

Hung them in my living room, so many functions , worth it! I Use them for parties for strobe lights and lighting up night for a chill vibe.

This light string has a nice 10 foot long lead wire between the first light and the USB. This is what I wanted so that I can plug the string into the DC outlet inside my travel trailer and still have the light rope all outside on the ground around the trailer. I did a quick measurement of the light rope and got 39'6" of lit portion, which is close enough to the advertised 40' (my measuring has a margin of error, I wasn't being too careful). The LEDs on high are brighter than I'd imagined, and of course the brightness can be reduced if desired. The tubing is sort of stiff and wants to retain its curl, but I can work with that.

I bought these for my 8 year old son for Christmas. I bought them with the intention of using them under his bed (he has another bed under his! They worked out absolutely perfect. They aren’t super bulky like some rope lights. They were very thin and the covering on them is super flexible. I was able to wrap them on the bars under his mattress and they worked out so well. He loves them and they’re pretty bright with a variety of color options! He can easily operate it himself.

I bought two sets of these lights, they are not very bright. 1 set turns on when it feels like it and the colors are not the same. The other set works fine but not bright…I wonder how long they will last.
