These are light weight and don’t drop the oil’s temperature. These are perfect for the home user. I used a 3 quart pot. and 4 of these are great for timing. Cook 1 at a time with oil deep so to cook with just a single flip. By the time 3 cook, the fourth is cool enough to remove the rack.

It does matter what kind of corn tortilla brand you use. Milagro Or Providencia - Hispanic store or Walmart bread section. They have the best flavor and I fry a few min and they work just like I was expecting. Yes the center for stuffing is smaller, but not any smaller than what you get at an authentic restaurant hard shells. The Walmart hard shells they have a more “bounced†opening than fresh ones without the preservatives that’s probably the reason for the breaking. The main issue I have is the clip gets soooo hot that it takes one forever to make more than two at a time. Maybe get some fire resistant gloves? Then pull the clip off. If not you can try to fry two and you have to wait for the metal t cool down. It’s time consuming. So maybe add more clips or an option to buy more clips to get the job none quickly.

I used it in my air fryer and it worked well. The negative thing is that I cut my finger on the edge of one of the forms. Edges are too sharp. I also would widen the opening a bit to keep your tortillas from closing to tight for filling. I will use again but be more careful with sharp edges.

They work great for making hard shell tacos. No more breaking the shells to get the meat inside.

I actually fry my tortillas in a shallow bed of vegetable oil. I tried these and the tortilla sticks to the metal housing. I basically snapped the tortilla trying to peel it off. I use corn, perhaps flour won't stick. They are also a little difficult to use, they obviously get hot and I normally make about 8 shells. Overall, didn't work for me. I threw them in the trash while while I continued to use my manual method.

This is a nice way to form a Torilla to make a hard Taco Shell. Use very little cooking oil.

I think this was a great idea, but a couple of flaws and issues:1. Handles are not long enough. This drops down far into my toaster and there is not much of the handle to grab.2. Handles are hot since they are metal. Longer handles with silicone grips would make this much better.Other than that, you cannot put anything wider or thicker than a small and flour tortilla if you have a regular toaster (not long). Also the bottom of the shell is not going to crisp up as there are no heaters at the bottom of the toaster.

I love home made hard shells. I’ve tried a ton of ways to make them and god or was painful. These made it so easy and fast. I need to buy more so I make more at one time.
