They are split bolts. Same as you would buy at an electrical supply house, but more economical in my case.

Do yourself a favor and try another brand. Southwire is a good company and I have used other products from them, was surprised at the quality issue here especially since they were packaged nice and had instructions? I finally got around to installing 2/0 - 1/0 size using 1/0 wire. 2 out of 6 spun out of the threads and stripped out. As many should know, you have to tighten these with a lot of torque. I thought maybe I was over tightening, but checked with a torque wrench on a ladder off the ground. Fortunately, the local electrical supply house had a different brand and they were fine.

One of the four split bolt connectors I purchased was stripped and defective. It was a huge struggle to make it work for the project I needed it for. Very frustrating.
