I tried this the other day on a basic taper candle. I felt that the shaft of the tool was just a little to long. I had to hold my finger on the shaft while carving because it would bend in the middle and I had a hard time controlling the tool, it was messing up the carving by not going where it was supposed to go but that could also be because the blades seemed a little dull for hard wax but the tool could possibly work different with clay or another material, it may be my preference too because I'm used to sharper instruments, with wax I have to cut into it, with clay your more shaping and that's what these seem to be made for. The handle on this was comfortable enough for arthritic hands. These are very well made except for the above length but that may not matter to some, its still a good product.

Was impressed I got three epoxy dab tools for so cheap. Thought I was getting just one. Definitely worth the cash. Look like ones I’ve paid $50 for.

Spent 15 dollars on dab tools and used the flat one twice and the resin pour seemed to crack. Tool fell out of the blue resin pour. Was excited for them

I'm still a beginner at candle making, and thought this would be fun to try -- and it is! I buy some paraffin but mostly use leftover bits from other candles -- that last inch or two of wax that I can't safely burn. I often have multiple colors of leftovers, none enough to make full pillar candles. The tools are made of strong stainless steel, with sturdy plastic handles. Each tool handle is a different color so it's easy to tell which is which without having to look closely at the tips when I reach for one. The handle has a square cross section which prevents the slippage I get with round/cylinder handles. The metal tool and sturdy handles are very firmly attached, they didn't come loose or crack or show strain when I used a lot of pressure on the tool. There are three tip shapes: a slightly curved long scoop, a flat thin spatula, and a flat triangular point. I'm a total beginner and could make respectable cuts and shapes in warm wax with each of them. I've also been using them on the sides of pillar candles that tunnel when I burn them, which is a great way to practice without risking anything.I highly recommend these tools for candle carving. I expect to find other uses for them too, they're a handy size and shape for manipulating materials.
