  • YOUR SAFETY SECURED: The Spare Air Emergency Tank was created after its inventor had a close call running out of air and barely escaping to the surface in time. With this simple backup tank you can ensure you'll always have enough air to return.
  • SIMPLE TO USE: The Spare Air system is designed to be simple so you can access your backup air any time. This refillable cylinder can be handed off to a fellow diver in trouble and begin providing nitrox oxygen in a moment's notice.
  • LOW PROFILE TANK: With it's small size and simple holster system this tank is out of the way when diving but easily accessible when you need it. It's 13.4" tall and has a 2.25" diameter. Weighing just 2.2lbs when full you can ignore this mini tank until you need it.
  • EVERYTHING YOU NEED: This black anodized aluminum scuba tank comes with a black holster that attaches easily to your dive gear, a leash to prevent accidental loss, and a refill adapter to fill air off of scuba tanks. This package has all the equipment you need to dive with added safety.
  • ALWAYS RETURN WITH AIR TO SPARE: After barely avoiding a catastrophe when he ran out of air on a dive Larry Williamson patented the Spare Air mini backup tank for divers. Spare Air has been ensuring safety for over 40 years with American made scuba tanks.

Divers have several emergency air choices. This is one of the best and it's been around since the 1980s. Compact and self-contained, it is entirely independent of your normal air supply. Strap it to your BC and it's readily available for you or your buddy. You fill it from a larger 3000 psi tank using an included adapter, which works well. With only 3 cu ft of air, the dent it takes out of the larger tank is barely noticeable, about 100 PSI drop from a full Al 80 tank. And you can disassemble it for travel.I find that the 3 cu ft (small size) is more than enough for emergency use; I would not want to carry a larger one, nor take the hit when refilling it.During dives it feels close to neutrally buoyant. The little tank can be reused, hydro tested and inspected just like a larger scuba tank, so it should last for many years. The built-in regulator durability/longevity is unknown, only time will tell.

Been diving for years and recently dove in the Florida Keys, (Ramrod) soon to return to Key Largo. Never had to depend on a redundant source but certainly glad to have SpareAir if needed. I'd highly recommend to upgrading the pressure indicator (SpareAir) that has a pressure number indicator. I did preform a test when I was in the Keys and SpareAir worked perfectly.

Tried 3 different scuba bottles to try to fill the spare air, leaked, obviously a spare air problem as the tanks all sealed with anything else. I'm one week past the return window, should have checked sooner, live and learn, Obvious Quality Control problem.

I love this little pony bottle! I hopefully will never have to use it, but I have been practicing with it. It is a very nice feeling to have that little bit of extra air just in case.It fills very easy from your main tank, and I have attached it to the bottom of my BC. There is a little 'drag' when breathing but not too bad.I get about 3-5 minutes out of it in the pool.

I had my regulator stop functioning because of a fool of a repair shop did a faulty service and put in an o-ring incorrectly. No air at 100 feet. After the initial 1/2 second of panic grabbed my spare air and safely ascended to 10 feet for a short safety stop. I never dive without it. Divemster cert. 2000+ dives. My friend had mentioned the $300 price as being a bit much. He asked me after that dive how much it was worth. I replied, " A million dollars!"
