Have not used it yet. However it is well balanced and seems well built. I wanted a drilling hammer to use to chisel out mortar for some masonry pointing. I think the 2lb weight plus the relative shortness of the hammer will be perfect. Will report back after use. Included powdered parm can for size comparison.

Perfect for splitting wood. If you have shoulder, arm or hand issues, or even if you don’t, this does absorb the shock as advertised. The weight of the head gives the force needed to split, rather than reliant on arm strength. Big hit ( ha ha) with the men in the family. I like it too!

Feels nice, does a little cushioning, and looks very boss!Is it any better than a chunk of steel on a wooden stick? Depends on how often you swing it and whether you have an audience to appreciate the quality of your tools.

I purchased this hammer to replace a wooden handled 5 lb maul (following an unfortunate incident where the head of the maul and the handle decided that they no longer wanted to be united). I admit that I was not confident that this lighter hammer would perform as effectively as its predecessor. I have been pleasantly surprised. The handle is very comfortable in my hand (even without gloves) and the hammer is weighted appropriately for my use (mainly for driving stakes into the dense concrete that we call soil here in the desert around Phoenix, AZ. Even when I drive rebar into an underground rock, the handle cushions my hand. The closest thing I can offer as a negative regarding this hammer is that the handle could be a a couple inches longer, but that is pretty minor. Overall, I am impressed with this hammer and I would recommend it to a family member or friend.

Item is much smaller then expected. Not very useful.Also they don't have Canada Post as a return option so I'd have to drive 2 hours just to return this item. BS...
