The box was very flimsy. It is only 3 sided, no back end. The locking box on attaches in the front.

Product was actually damaged (a big dent on one side), but I didn't feel like messing around with another return. (The previous one I ordered was too narrow (7.25" vs. 9"). Works fine, easy to install and so far no stolen mail. I gave this a 4 star review only due to the damaged goods. Other than that it works great!

Ordered this with a standard sized mailbox that was shown as "frequently bought together" on Amazon. Well I did buy both as suggested and the mailbox was was too narrow for the insert. The opening of the mailbox has to be at least 7" and no less. Found one at a nearby Lowes and it fit perfectly. As for the insert itself, it is a bit flimsy but once installed appears and does add a layer of deterrent for opportunistic mail thieves who prefer an easy score rather than putting in the effort to spend the time prying something open and risk being seen all for the potential of junk mail. So bottom line, it'll do...now to get that lazy mail person to actually use it.

This locked mail box is not strong; hence not good. My mail box is on a stand with 5 other mailboxes. It appears that someone took their fist, or mallet to my mailbox, and PUNCHED IN the frontal area and completely made the lock a useless item on my mailbox. . The lock box now is easily pulled open, and the lock no longer is able to lock the door shut.. If you are looking for mailbox security, I would never buy this unit again. I was part of a home owners group buy for this mail/box, plus the outside box that this locked box fits into. We bought this mailbox to be compatible in looks to the old mail boxes for people who didn't what to invest in a new locked mailbox. That idea compromised mailbox security with a poor insecure mailbox. Now I must buy another mail box that is strong and it is not going to match the other boxes on the mail stand. I currently also use a P.O. box for secure mail, and it looks like I will have to keep on paying for that option until I get a really strong mailbox.:Please note the whole concept of this box fitting into another box is POOR. The mail man WILL NOT SORT OUT the letters to be put into the locked box section of your dual mailbox. Hence one is better off just getting a STRONG SINGLE SLOT mail box where everything is dumped into it, no sorting required. If the mailed item is too large for this larger mailbox, the mail man will just have to drop the mailed item off at the house.

I had my bank documents stolen right out of my mail box recently and had to change all my accounts because of it.So, I researched all available locking boxes and settled on this one because it fits INSIDE my own oversizedbox and still has room for 9x12 manila envelopes to go out, which I do often!I am very pleased with this box and feel my mail is safe now even if these scums do theirdrive-bys and try to grab identities right out of people's mailboxes! So there, up yours, thieves!

The deception is wrong. The item listed the size of a normal mail box. I measured my mail box and matched it to the decription listed and guess what its corners is 1/4 of an inch off so this item will be too small for the next size mail box. The company that made this item needs to hire a person with math skills to measure and post it as its actual size. I will never buy anything from this company again. I feel like I've been burned by deceptive marketing strategy.
