Im Not a gemologist but i had to read this to figure out how to use and read this to see if something is fake or real. It is mind blowing and i am still learning to read this through the eye piece,. It is simple but a great piece for any side gemologist to use when not at work. It’s an okay value if your into all of that stuff. It is nice quality.

This spectroscope is a bit of a mixed bag. I can see a spectrum, and when using an adjustable LED light, the blues become more visible in cool light, and greens/reds in warm. However, I was expecting clearer spectral lines, and that’s where this device falls short for me. It could be an issue with my reading glasses, my choice of light, or the materials I’m observing—but without a proper manual, it's hard to tell.The included "manual" is essentially two sentences, leaving a lot to figure out. The photos in the listing are also confusing, showing different ways to use it. I’d strongly recommend the sellers provide a video covering how to use the device, what to look for, and some easy test examples. For now, I’ll keep experimenting, but the lack of guidance makes it hard to recommend without reservations. On the plus side, it’s well made, so there’s potential here.
