The studio where I first learned how to throw on a wheel used Speedball bats exclusively. Now, several years later, as the owner of my own personal studio and a wheel that is one of my prized possessions, I also use Speedball bats. I've tried other brands, but keep coming back to Speedball as my tried and true favorite.They fit perfectly on the bat pins. When cared for and stored properly, they won't warp and will sit nicely for a smooth throw. So easy to clean. Durable. Affordable. They play nicely with any clay body. They also pair wonderfully with bat accessories such as bat mates and sticky bats (Diamond Core).I'm loving this bright pink one, a special edition color, which brings me a little serotonin boost. Do I *NEED* more? Probably not. But do I *WANT* more? YES.

I love this bat. I do use a bat mate with it, so it less likely to wobble. The bat has a nice grip and it is straight as a razor. I've been working with a few warped bats, bit this bat is amazing. It cleans up easily and I love the hot pink color, it's easy to find.

This bat is exactly as I would expect from this great company. Quality plastic and is tough enough to handle clay easily. Bat will fit all wheel types as it has both sizes to fit the pins. My favorite thing about these bats is the fact that the bats fits the pins UNDER the bat so if you make pieces that go past the bat pins (wide platter) they dont show where they were on the bottom of the piece. Because the entire bat is smooth on top without those holes, you can let pieces dry right off the bat. Will always come back to Speedball products!

Generally I like these. No bat pin holes make it easier for project size and clean up. Seem less likely to warp and are light weight. My only complaint is that they don't hold up to sharper tools when undercutting or trimming. There are shavings instantly. I have some tools I love to use for these, but i will just need to adjust that.

My community studio uses Speedball bats for all of their classes and these are my favorite to use in my home studio. They fit my Shimpo VL Lite perfectly and stay put, while being easy to put on and take off. I use several different kinds of bats at home including high density fiberboard (HDF) bats, an HDF bat system with inserts, plastic bats from another brand, and Speedball plastic bats. These are by far the best for their fit and durability. You always have to watch for warping with fiberboard bats, but not these. Having a set of these is worth the investment if you like throwing with bats. They save time and make storing, drying and moving pieces a lot easier. I highly recommend getting these. You won't regret it.
