Unique Soy-Based Formulation
Ideal for intaglio/etching, monotype, gel, and collagraph printmaking, Akua Intaglio Inks' unique soy-based formulation offer a safer studio environment. Clean-up is easy with soap and water, allowing printmakers to avoid the harmful solvents that are needed for traditional etching/intaglio inks.
Inks Dry Through Absoption
Akua Intaglio Ink will not skin over in the jar or dry on the printmaking plate. It dries through absorption into paper fibers. This delivers a range of meaningful benefits to printmakers. It affords the ultimate in convenience - allowing you to work on printing on your schedule. You can leave and come back to work on projects without the inks drying on plates or tools. Since the inks only dry through absorption, there is no wasted ink as jars left open will not dry out.

Arrived super fast and on schedule! Have used Oil based printing inks in the past but wanted to go a non toxic route. Quick and easy clean up. The ink was smooth, not clumpy or watery, just right for a lino print. We did varying thicknesses of ink and a couple different papers to test;some pieces are already dry and its only been 12 hours! Recommended.

Several of the inks in this package had seals that had been broken and a bit of ink had begun to leak One jar had a broken seal and was less than full.

Just be aware, the blue bottle hasn't stopped leaking. It was leaking form the cap when i got it. I ordered it even though I saw bad ratings because there is nothing better. The yellow was also leaking a bit but as long as you have a lot of Dawn dish soap, you'll be fine. Dawn dish soap you should have on hand anyways for this ink as it cleans it up the best (if not the only way. Best way to get colours even when you wont use them a lot. If you are getting these and have never used them before, PLEASE DO RESEARCH!!! I promise it will help you. These inks are not like block printing ink or alcohol ink.

Awesome Akua inks. My school and I swear by these. They're awesome and can be cleaned up with water. They roll down well for relief printing, and work great for intaglio printing. I would recommend these inks for anyone. This starter set is perfect for someone just wanting to test the waters, or to learn about Akua inks.

ink jar cracked inside of box, everything is coved in black ink. rest of black in container is dry.

The box turned up with all the blue containers having leaked over everything. Perhaps the product is good but the actual packing is woeful. 🤔 So I would think carefully about buying this set . Unless the packaging is jmproved drastically.
