This is a great static cling wallpaper for tanks! It has great color and wonderful details! READ and FOLLOW the instructions. It's super easy, but make sure you're following the instructions.I installed this on my 10gal tank. I moved the tank to where I could reach it properly - tough to do when fully set up! I cut it down to size. I slowly peeled the paper off and I used a cup of ~room temp water and dipped my fingers and flicked them at the cling as I peeled. Basically you just wet it so you can adjust it when placing it onto the tank. I adjusted the top and began smoothing from the center with my hands. Keep a paper towel or cloth close by to soak up water for this next part - you use a plastic card (I used a gift card) to smooth the cling out from remaining bubbles.Whoever said its 'pale' colored didn't read the instructions. They were probably just taping it onto the tank.

This film was easy to handle. Easy to cut. Easy to measure out as well. The paper backing has grid lines to make cutting straight lines easier. I have had it on the side of my aquarium for several months and it has never come loose. When you take it out of the box, the film didn't appear as black as I thought it should be. But, once it was on the glass, it became nearly black. More like a dark charcoal. The other good thing... it cuts down on reflections tremendously. My fish have completely stopped pacing the glass since I installed it. I am very pleased. I recommend it highly.

This was my first try using a static cling background. The cling applied quickly and easily but there were some problems that I can across that is probably more due to the fact that I didn't have the right tools.I didn't have a spray bottle so I just lightly splashed water onto the aquarium surface. Removing the bubbles took a little more time because the bubbles were so large. A spray bottle probably would have been better as that would create a finer mist with more even distribution.I used a credit card to even out the background but the credit card seemed to be a bit to stiff/abrasive so I ended up with lots of micro-perforations in the background. A soft squeegee is probably a better choice as it probably would not tear through the background as much. The installation was performed on a live tank so I couldn't lay down the tank. If possible, laying down the tank and adding the background while the tank is empty would probably be the preferred way as it makes it easier to apply the static cling.Just a recommendation, but if you haven't installed a background before, note that the background is rolled up. If possible, it's probably better to unroll the background and flatten it with some books overnight before applying as that might make it easier to perform a better install. As far as visual aesthetics, it's not exactly the deep, pure black I was looking for. Once installed, it has a bit of a light black, almost gray look to it. If you're looking for a deep, dark black background, this is not the one to use. That said, I really like the background. I would've preferred that it was a deep, pure black color but it's dark enough. One benefit of a static cling background that I've found is that I can easily run one of those magnetic cleaners over it to clean the back wall, which was something I could not easily do with the regular backgrounds. In summary, I would definitely recommend this product but keep in mind the caveats noted above. Hopefully, this will help you get a better idea of what you're getting.

I rolled it the other way around to make it more flat and made it easier to cut to fit. I used two small pieces of tape to hold the corners. It went on in seconds and looks great. As you see in my pic the image is not as sharp and clear as the advertised pic. I thought that was perfect as that’s how it would look in real life slightly burred effect makes the foreground more pronounced and gives the tank depth. I wanted the back ground to give my fish a bit more privacy as they like to hide. They seem to enjoy looking at it and it reflects off the sides. It hides all the chords and I think it makes my tank better. Should have gotten this a long time ago.

I really liked the idea of this static cling background for my fish tank. The background I was using was a plastic piece that had to be taped on. I didn't like the look of the tape on the sides of the tank. I had never heard of a static cling background, so thinking this was the answer to my problem, I ordered one right away. To start, it didn't fit, but that's to be expected. I trimmed it with a scissors which was easy enough. It did cling to the tank as promised, but it kept clinging too soon which made it difficult to get on evenly. I would suggest getting another person to help you when applying. It looks nice, but... it's very dark. I thought it would be bright and vibrant, but it's not. Overall, it does work as promised, but it just doesn't deliver the look I was hoping for.

Arrived with being flip flop on the grid paper and is not a true blackout. Tried working with it and overall not a quality look and ended up throwing it away

I purchased two of these to cut down for the sides of my ball python's terrarium, and they are perfect! As another reviewer mentioned, they are not a completely opaque black - they are a tad translucent. For *my* use, this is actually a plus, as it allows my snake to get some ambient light without getting too stressed by transparent glass on all sides. These apply very easily to the outside (not the inside!) of the glass, tolerate repositioning well, and stay put once they're in place. I used a credit card to smooth out the bubbles, and as long as you're careful to apply even, outward pressure, there should be no tears or bubbles. (And do be careful, because too much pressure in one area will stretch it and result in a noticeably less black patch.)
