These are lightweight - material and design. I want them for temporarily closing latches that I don't need real secure. I would not depend on them to take much real stress though. Beside "utility" type temporary use I was going to use them to run rope/cord through to hold down cargo in my trailer. They would be fine to put light to medium stress on but not bigger. Or to hold electric extensions, or light tools, or keys, etc. they would be fine. The aluminum appears relatively soft. The locking part works but doesn't appear very strong. OK for right use.I totally misspoke about these carabiners. Somehow I was thinking of different products that I bought elsewhere. These are stainless steel, NOT aluminum. And, the stainless steel looks and feels like high quality steel with a high polish. And, they are reasonably strong. Well made with a long proven design. The weak points on a carabiner like this is the pin holding the folding piece, and, the mating notched other end of the clip . I can't determine how well this will stand up on these but I don't have any reason to doubt they will do well. The superior fit and finish on these do make me feel they will be stronger than I may have sounded above. I would recommend them for light use. And I will use them as part of holding down cargo in my trailer.

I wanted to be certain these carabiner clips were of sufficient strength, so I took one of the four in the package and intended to "test to failure". In other words, I put over 418 lbs. on this clip and it probably could have withstood even more. I only stopped because I thought it was possibly 'looking a little stressed' as I approached 425 so I chickened out and considered this to be just as capable as the ones I bought last year at a "major name outdoor sports retailer" for 3X this price. My intended use for these carabiners is for the 'sun-sail' shade cloth we use in our greenhouses, both indoors and outdoors, where the outdoor "perennial house" normally has six sun-sail shades installed to protect young plants from our brutal high-country Colorado sun where we also often get wind gusts of up to 40+ mph, which of course creates massive loads on the shade cloth, cables, turnbuckles, and carabiners used to suspend these sun-sails, so naturally we totally need dependable parts. Time will tell, but these appear very capable and we're happy with the purchase. But I'll re-post if these disappoint me, also... so stay tuned.

Purchased and used to attach our flag to our flagpole's halyard.They survived being hit by a tornado in Nov 2024, alas the flag itself and the flagpole did not.They were a great price... I'd buy more if I need more!

if in fact these are 304 Stainless then these are very good. Our flag pole came with smaller sized 1.75 inch snap hooks and when I replaced the flag for wear & tear the new flag's holes were spaced closer together making the original hooks too short. The lager hooks from Sprookber worked perfectly

Works as intended for exercise equipment accessory hookup. They are a little bit smaller than the original snap hooks that I have but they still work for the intended purpose. We will see how long they last.
