I was pleasantly surprised by this machine. When I first received it, I thought it was a bit heavy and would be tiresome to use. I found the weight to actually be helpful in reducing the amount of pressure that I had apply in use. It works quite well when used with a good quality sanding belt. I wish I had purchased this years ago for the products that I make. I can hardly believe the super expensive alternatives could do a more effective job. I've used it quite a bit and I'm impressed. My only concern is long term durability, but it seems very solid and well made. Time will tell, but I recommend this tool.UPDATE: After using this tool for a couple years now, it's still going strong. While I don't use it daily, I use it nonstop for a couple hours, numerous times a month, and it's held up great. Still works and looks like brand new. Well worth the money and very pleased with it. I'll certainly buy another one if this one ever does die.

I don’t use this professionally just for side projects. No issues at all very sturdy tool.

The tool is heavier than I expected, but I suspect that's my problem, not the tool's fault. The handle can be screwed into 3 different spots (2 on the tool body, and the one show in the picture), so that can help you handle it's weight a bit easier. The top belt wheel has a "trench" in it's middle that is JUST under 1" wide. Meaning you can use a 1" x 30" belt (the more common size), but you need to be careful as it will travel back and forth across the wheels (and if you're sanding a pipe-like target, you might push half of the belt down into that wheel trench, which often causes the belt to jump off of the device). It has a speed dial like most rotary/dremel type devices (going from 1 to 6), but I find that 2 is often fast enough. I wouldn't try a higher speed unless you are actually using a 1.5" x 30" belt, as I said there's a risk of thinner belts "jumping off".The only reason I removed 1 star is that I find the switch frustrating. It's a thumb switch that you push up to turn the device on, but you need to HOLD it up to keep the device running. The switch has a strong spring, so your thumb will often get tired holding it on while using the device (and I mentioned I find the device a bit heavy, so my hand gets tired/cramped within a minute of use).I suspect the switch is designed this way for safety, so the device naturally shuts off if something catastrophic happens (hair/clothes caught by the belt or the belt jumping off the track). But I still find the switch annoying, and wish there was some other way to keep it running than just holding the switch (such as the tool having a trigger on the grip that keeps it on while depressed, and would need to be depressed before the switch could be pushed on).Overall I'm satisfied with the device, as it only cost ~$150 at the time of purchase. Many other similar devices regularly run $300 to $500. So for the cost, I find it sufficient for what I needed it for.

If you push too hard it loses grip on the belt. Also the wheels are too large to fit between a handrail and the wall. Motor is huge. I run 7A dewalt grinders for doing handrails and its almost double the girth. NOT 5/8 thread so you can't change the grinder motor out without modifications. Other than that it seems to work as it should. It will take down handrail fitting welds on mild steel but not as fast as a grinder with same grit disks. Comes with 2 80grit belts which leaves the pipe a bit rough and don't last long either. EDIT: so I was using the thing in the shop and some gow bumped the spindle lock while the thing was at full go. KILLED the thing. Started dissambly and found that the gear directly off the motor just chewed right through its mate. Looks like a burr but went at it all in one spot. Also broke the head unit where the lock ran through. Pulled the windings out and the bearing cogs like all hell. Motor dont have enough to start up to get going in the bearing. Shes a finer but i might get another. Did this work for 15 years without one and now I miss it.

This works as good as any pipe tool I have ever used, saves a ton of time.

Regardless of the reviews. It’s not heavy like some say. It doesn’t slip if it’s on the fastest speed and it has a trigger lock. Worth the money for 1-3/4†DOM cleaning

if you push very lightly it works, but only polishes a quarter of the pipe. tried to do more than that and it losses grip on the drive pulley.

Not a quality product. Save your money. RPM could be a bit higher and no trigger lock so gets heavy in a hurry. Seller is not offering a solution.
